Easy peasy :D

Ipomoea Quamoclit , Cypress Vine, and in Thai khon sawan (other names are khem daeng, khaeng singh and phan sawan). It is a member of the Convolvulaceae family of creepers, which includes bindweed and morning glory. It has a very short life span but grows easily from seed. Apparently it is supposed to be effective in suppressing severe coughing (boil the stems and leaves).

See floridata here for more detailed info.

I might add, that floridata is an excellent resource for information on tropical and subtropical plants :o

Thank you sbk, I'll bookmark the site immediately. As a former nursery owner I should know these things but we specialised in Australian natives and other dry land plants. Plus, it's been a long time and a lot of beers. :o

Just an avid gardener. I used to get the Bangkok post and I cut out and saved all the articles on plants in Thailand. As well as having a fairly large selection of gardening books. Ilearn the names of plants I like, both in Thai and in English, probably know more plant names in Thai than hubby.

Just call me a gardening nut :o
