Following a decisive defeat of Thailand’s old guard establishment in yesterday’s general election, the leader of the Move Forward Party says he’s ready to be PM. According to a Nation Thailand report, 42 year old Pita Limjaroenrat took to Twitter at 2am this morning to thank supporters.

“Dear fellow citizens, today I, Pita Limjaroenrat, am ‘clear’ and ‘ready’ to be the 30th Prime Minister of Thailand. We share the same dreams and hopes, and we believe that the Thailand we love can be better.”

Harvard-educated Pita went on to acknowledge those who are not Move Forward supporters, pledging to work for everyone, no matter their political allegiance.

I really hope he has no skeletons hiding/buried....  Prayut and his cronies will go or are already digging

A new dawn.

Things are moving rapidly. Pita is in the process of forming a 309 MP, 6 party coalition. Prayut is gone. Pita will be the next PM of Thailand and the 250 lackey senators will have no choice but to abandon Prayut and accept the will and the mandate of the people.

Not this time. I think real change can happen and this is what the people of Thailand want. I hope you are wrong.

It will not be long before there is a referundum to change the constitution. I think even the EC and the Constitutional Court are even backed into a corner. The people know the are Prayut lackeys and the military know that the coming months could see Thailand transition peacefully or it could be complete chaos. A coup will not work this time. Dissolution of parties will result in an uprising. This is it. Thailand is moving forward.

One of the senators has spoken:

(1/3) In a clear sign some junta-appointed senators may not vote for Move Forward PM candidate Pita Limjaroenrat, influential senator Wanchai Sornsiri said Mon he & others will have to take other factors into consideration such as party's policies. #Thailand #เลือกตั้ง #ก้าวไกล
(2/3) Wanchai pointed out that Move Forward itself didn't win a simple majority of the lower House which is 251 out of 500 but won much fewer seats at so it cannot claim otherwise
(3/3) "I'm not sure that the # 1 party will always able to form a gov't," he said, adding that Pheu Thai won most seats back in 2019 but unable to form a gov't & ends up in the opposition

As I remember the previous govt didn't have a clear majority either. It was a coalition and bought off army generals in the senate that got them in.

You funny.

A post making unsubstantiated claim has been reported and removed.

As am I, but our chances are roughly those of a snowball's in hell.  How do we get rid of 250 Army Generals?

One bullet at a time ...........

His ex seems to think otherwise:

Also "new" PM? Quote Wiki:
He is the nephew of Padung Limjaroenrat, a former secretary to the Interior Minister and a close aide of then Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Thailand certainly needs a change. Hopefully Pita aka Tim is his own man.

He have to become PM first. It's still a long way for him.
And as long he's not have the 376 seats in his favor nothing is clear yet.
