Bangkok — Bangkok Police collaborated with South Korean law enforcement to arrest a Korean man for smuggling crystal meth from Thailand into his home country.

On May 19th, anti-drug police officers in Bangkok rounded up a foreign drug suspect, Mr. Cheon Yoon Bae of South Korean nationality, on suspicion of smuggling crystal methamphetamine from Thailand to South Korea between 2021 – 2022.

Mr. Cheon was arrested at his condominium on Soi Sukhumvit 21 within the Klongtoey Nua sub-district of Wattana district, Bangkok. The police found 0.5 gram of ice (crystal meth) in his possession.

According to Mr. Wichai Chaimongkol, Secretary-General of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), the arrest was a result of coordinated efforts between the ONCB and the Korea National Police (KNP).

Belated information from S.Korea highlighted the criminal.. not Thailands infamous RTP detective work.

Crystal meth (ya ice) is bad. Very bad.

one-half of one gram, and it's a "Story". (Yes, I get the Koeran "angle".)

When there are weekly busts in Thailand for tens and hundreds of kilograms of ya ice.

Get a grip and focus on the bigger problem, massive, over-supply with Thailand facilitating trans-shipment, and local use and abuse.

Thai police arrest 4, seize 3 million meth pills, about 300kg of ‘ice’ in 2 operations

Piya told the press that two suspects were arrested in Lampang’s Mae Phrik district at 6.50am on March 2. Also seized were 2 million meth pills, 297kg of crystal meth or “ice” and 2kg of ketamine.

i don't get it.

do the korean police have evidence or video or something of him smuggling into korea ? all it says is that he had been smuggling. how do they know ? and if they knew why was he not arrested previously ?  was he ever arrested for this crime ?

if not how is he being arrested for smuggling while sitting in a condo in bkk with half a g.

the real crime here is in the fine print...savage behavior.

Police also slapped him with overstaying charges after learning that he had overstayed his visa.

That stuff really is bad for you, he should know better.
