Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat has intervened in the tussle over the House speakership between the Move Forward and Pheu Thai, two core members of the 8-party coalition, saying that the issue should be settled at a meeting of the coalition partners.

 

He said that the war of words stems from conflicting opinions between the two parties, adding that the issue is insignificant compared to the tasks entrusted to the coalition by the people.

 

He urged all the parties to unite, put an end to the remnants of military dictatorship and guide Thailand towards true democracy.

Spoken like a statesman. If he actually makes it to PM and leader of a strong & cohesive government, he'll probably - as he moves up his learning curve - make a leader of Thailand of a quality & strength that noone has seen for many many years.

 

People of good will can only wish him great success in this huge enterprise.

It's got to be the deputy leader. This would be a 1st if I'm not mistaken a woman will be the speaker of the house. That will shove right up the old dinasaurs backsides.

Of course it matters.

 

The Move Forward Party must not lose the House speakership to other coalition parties if it wants to avoid problems in tabling any amendment to the lèse majesté law in the Parliament.
