Pita – The Tourism Ambassador for Thailand

While his future as the next prime minister of Thailand remains a matter of wait-and-see, Pita Limjaroenrat, leader of Move Forward, became “the Tourism Ambassador” for Thailand on Friday.

On his Facebook page, he posted about the destinations in Thailand he has visited and loves. His posts came after news that the Tourism Council of Thailand and the Tourism Authority of Thailand invited him to be the tourism ambassador for the country.

He wrote that he has visited many places throughout Thailand while serving as an MP. Thailand has beautiful and interesting destinations, many of which are not yet on tourists’ itineraries.

He wishes to see Thai tourism revived, after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and be environmentally friendly.

He broke down “THAI” as ‘T’ standing for tranquil tourism, such as the slow pace of life on the Ta Pi River in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. ‘H’ stands for homestay tourism, like Japanese-style farm-stay or agritourism in Italy. This kind of tourism could take place in Sukhothai province, he wrote.

The ’A’, Pita wrote, stands for adventure tourism. Thailand has many places where tourists can enjoy rock climbing, other than in Krabi and Chiang Mai. Pita gave examples of Lampang, Kanchanaburi and Lopburi provinces.

Pita said ‘I’ stands for indigenous tourism, which he loves the most. “This kind of tourism consists of culture, cuisine and crafts, which are fascinating.”

Thailand has leapt from the bottom rungs and dregs to the tippy top of quality leadership. The voters got it right.

I find this all slightly surreal and a little nauseating,  your gushing support is a bit premature and a little over enthusiastic too

Very strange thing to say indeed

They probably want him out of the country when they do the coup.

Well Prayuth, Prawit, Anutin and Phiphat represented everything tourists don't want. And they nearly destroyed the industry.

Pita is a breath of fresh air for a smog (think army) choked nation.

An abusive trolling post has been removed as well as a reply. Additionally, a baiting post and another post trolling a member has been removed.  Stay on-topic, Stay Civil, and stop the personal attacks.

At least they cleared the beaches and revived the waterways down here on Phuket. Last MF leader wanted to roll back the regulations on the 'poor fishermen' and suggested 'there are many more places to visit on Phuket than the beaches' even though that's what tourists come here for. If they want to sit in a snake infested field, hey, have at it. I'm guessing Tanatorn MII.
