An elderly woman was fatally struck by a speeding car while crossing the road in Nakhon Si Thammarat province in South Thailand. The force of the impact caused the 66 year old woman’s head to strike the ground, ultimately leading to her death. The incident occurred on Om Khai Road in the Pak Poon sub-district.

The victim, identified as Sukon (surname undisclosed), was found at the scene with severe head injuries and was eventually pronounced dead at Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital. According to a preliminary investigation, the woman was hit yesterday evening.

The vehicle involved in the accident was a black Toyota sedan with a red license plate, with the registration number 2979, registered in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Authorities have collected evidence in connection with the case.

The investigation revealed that Sukon was crossing the road at the time of the accident when the black sedan, travelling at high speed, collided with her, causing her body to be forcibly thrown by the impact.

What is 'speeding' car ? Looking at the road, it could well have a high speed limit.

I'd say speed was not the issue, but driver distraction.

Taking the red plate for a high speed road test..

Another murderer on the road.

A lot of assumption here... Just as there is a lot of assumption in the article itself and headline.

There is no indication that the driver was speeding other than the report..

We’d need see camera footage to establish that.

Could this have been a case of the woman crossing the road without looking?

Exactly the same thing happened to last week...  someone stepped out into the road without looking, the car in front was so close to hitting them and had no chance to stop - the driver wasn’t speeding and I was following at the same speed (about 50 kmh in Bangkok).

So...  levying your accusation of ‘murder’ is just as ridiculous as someone else levying the accusation of ‘suicide’....    there only the report to go off and we know how inaccurate the news reporting is here.

Note the article is also bias in its reporting.... “The force of the impact caused the 66 year old woman’s head to strike the ground”...    even the slightest impact or tripping up can cause someone to hit their head on the ground....

From the post:

From the investigation not words from the media.
