June 17, 20233 yr The eight coalition parties, led by Move Forward, have decided to postpone their meeting to discuss the formation of a new government from June 20th to June 22nd, to await the Election Commission’s (EC) official confirmation of the May 14th general election results, expected on June 21st. An informed coalition source said that the EC’s official confirmation will provide a clearer picture of how many constituency and party-list seats each coalition party has won, which is a key factor in determining how many cabinet seats they will get. The EC is expected to announce the confirmed election results of 100 party-list MPs and 400 constituency MPs-elect, except for the 71 whose cases are under investigation. The 71 “problematic” constituency MPs-elect include 21 from the Bhumjaithai party, 17 from Pheu Thai, 16 from Palang Pracharath, 6 from Move Forward, 3 each from Democrat and United Thai Nation, 2 from Thai Sang Thai and 1 from Pheu Thai Ruam Palang. June 17, 20233 yr If you're in favour of Thailand moving forward from the 1990s (and in some parts from the 1960s), the numbers above on which MPs-elect are under review are fairly reassuring.

A wise move, at least they'll have a starting point.
June 17, 20233 yr With that many parties vying for positions, I would love to be a fly on the wall. I hope that there is a good system for sorting it all out.
