Thinking of retiring at last! I made enquiries at immig a few months ago, and it seems that Police Letter AND Doc's cert are no longer needed. Nice one.

I have combined pensions/dividends income of more than 65,000 a month. I don't want to deposit 800,000b

I can show an annual pension letter PLUS bank statements from NET-ACCESSED accounts (i.e. printed from internet) no problem. Will these be accepted at S Phlu?

Do I still need to go to embassy? (UK in my case) If so, will they certify my income on basis of my emailed statements and copies? Or, is it a 'sworn" thing like the US embassy? Or do I no longer need to do the embassy thing?

Is there anything else to remember? I currently work for a Gvmt school, so I have 1 year +WP.

What about the timing? I dont want to resign and then find that my new visa will take 3 months.

Thanks

1. Police check has never been required for extension for retirement - only for OA visa when obtained overseas.

2. Medical still seems to be required by some offices for first application but hopefully will not be required if they said it was not.

3. You must have letter from your Embassy - that is required to use the pension method. Believe UK will accept the paperwork you have on hand.

4. If you have a local account I would take passbook and a bank letter within the week providing balance information (200 baht at most banks). It might not be required but can say for sure it is accepted and put in file if presented.

5. Issue of extension is immediate.

I see, thanks!

So it sounds like the Ret. visa is just an extension? I work, so I believe my current is a Type B (?)

Is it only year-by-year? Do I have to visit the embassy each year?

What you receive from Immigration is an extension of stay, one year at a time.

By Embassy visit I assume you are talking about obtaining proof of pension? Some have been able to use (submit copy) original as long as passport number remains the same. I have provided a new one each year. If they keep the original you will require a new one.
