I recommend: http://lexitron.nectec.or.th/downloadLex_detail.html

Set up and usage is a bit tricky -- this requires Thai as a primary language on your computer but once you have set up the requisite functions, this is a wonderful dictionary. Look to the "Regional and Language" settings in the Control Panel of Windows if you are having trouble.

The benefits of Lexitron are:

1. It is free, if you register;

2. There are no copywrite violations if you agree upon registration;

3. It is bilingual Thai and English

4. The dictionary contains not just translations, but definitions, synonyms, antonyms, and sample sentences for most terms.

5. You can copy entries for use in Word, for example.

6. It is fully downloadable on to your local machine.

The downsides are:

1. There is no pronunciation guide or sound files attached

2. It does require computer configuration to be Thai based, although any recent version of Windows can accomodate the requirements. Look to the download requirments for the appropriate version for your machine.

Good luck.
