The Pheu Thai party announced today (Wednesday) the union of eight parties to form a new government, which will, hopefully, put an end to the prolonged political divide in Thailand.

 

In addition to the two core parties, Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai, the other parties agreeing to join the coalition are Prachachat, Thai Liberal, Chart Pattana Kla, Pheu Thai Rumphalang, Plung Sungkom Mai and Thongthee Thai.

 

In a statement issued today, Pheu Thai claimed that the coalition now commands more than half of the 500 seats in the House of Representatives, adding that they hope that it will be able to ease political tension and resolve political conflicts.

And so much for the General Election then.

 

The only way these rinky dinky little parties can get any say in the Thai Government is the stab the rightful winner in the back.

more than half lol, MFP and PT had more than half on their own, just wait and see if senators vote for this - if they do then the landscape will change very quickly - coalition won't last more than a week

Create a new divide, eight parties all trying to agree on something?

MFP had the peoples vote... the senate are the culprits for going against the nations wish.

All about payoffs and bribes. 

The disregard for their commitments and for the citizenry is vile and disgusting. 
Immoral and unethical Thai men cheating and lying to continue to gorge themselves at the public finance trough.

I am sorry to say that I am totally disgusted (as are many Thais) at Thai Politics, which is not a beaurocracy, but an autocracy.  Thailand needs to look at what has happened in Niger, where because of the coupe, USA, EU and UK have withdrawn their funding and I feel that exactly the same should happen in Thailand - but of coourse it won't.  Why - because the powers that be are worried that Thailand will lean even more to China for support.  The only hope is that when the Senator's tenor is over, that the Government revises their right to vote for the PM.

Come the next election all these treacherous parties will be wiped out and I can see the next GE taking place sooner rather than later

Through this circus-like process, it appears that we're returning to the patriarchal dinosaur club of rule by way of trickery, deception and underhanded manipulation. Kind of expected....

 

What should be much more disappointing are the inactions of the good Thai people. 

Lotsa talk and threats, yet little [if at all] as a unified collective to stand passively by as the society is in the deems of being robbed and hoodwinked again. 

 

The theatre remains the same with a slight abbreviation of players.
