Bhumjaithai Wants Srettha Replaced With Paetongtarn

THE BHUMJAITHAI under de facto party boss Newin Chidchob has pressed the Pheu Thai as core of a current coalition to replace Srettha Thavisin with Paetongtarn Shinawatra as partisan candidate for prime minister, a partisan source said yesterday (Aug.13).

Paetongtarn, daughter of de facto Pheu Thai boss/deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, would not be so strictly demanding as Srettha when it comes to the allocation of cabinet portfolios among coalition partners, according to the source who only spoke on condition of anonymity.

Paetongtarn and Srettha were among a trio of Pheu Thai contestants for prime minister apart from former justice minister Chaikasem Nitisiri.

Srettha, known as personally associated with deposed prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, has reportedly demanded that nobody in a future cabinet practically assume the same portfolio which they may be assuming for the time being, albeit in a caretaker’s capacity.

This demand of Sretha’s seems aims at Anutin as Thaksin wants to recriminalize cannabis and this needs to keep Anutin out of the health ministry. Anutin has been silent about cannabis in the latest horse trading.

When will Pheu Thai open their eyes..Everybody is trying to keep the PM post away from PT. They have made the worst decision to join with the uncles in aGovernment. The best thing PT should do is go back to the coalition with Move Forward and keep the country without a Government till May next year. Together they are strong and changes can be made, but now there will be no progression at all and Pheu Thai stay behind with empty hands. No matter who they will nominate for PM. The senators have already mad their choice

Machinations.

Newin Chidchob wants to retain MoT (which his son controls, although he was forced to step down pending investigations) and MoPH, where Anutin rules, and where Cannabis control resides.

IMO keeping control of the same ministries is a VERY bad idea.

I suggest way back when all this started, MFP and PT should stick to their coalition (the lesser of many evils) and just hold out until such times as the current  corrupted senate term expires. They could keep putting forward a new nomination for PM every weeks or so just to keep the pot boiling.

Any alternate move would be detrimental to Thailands future.

You're forgetting the party's paymaster and owner wants to come back to Thailand and that requires shakings hands with the junta.

Everything else they say is just for show. Offer the people a few goodies to look like they care about the poor and then claim they're forming a 'special government ' to get out of the economic crisis.

Manure, and the people know it

I'm waiting for the 'left' in PT to resign or join MF. People like Chaturon Chaisaeng and Nattawut Saikeua but I fear I may be waiting a long time.

You're correct of course about the slim bag owner, I'm sure he'd smile and bend for whoever allows him back so he can play with his grand kids.

Yes, let's put the person who has no experience at all in charge.

This way, the new government will be easier to manipulate, and the conservatives will really have won the day.

Sure, put this tabula rasa in office.

She probably has fewer skeletons in her closet than Srettha.

But get real, it's not the "conservatives" who will have "...won the day", it's the Dragonhead in Dubai.

That's what he thinks (Mr Woodsome). In reality, he's being played like a second hand fiddle.

The conservative forces had this all planned years ago, which is why they drafted the constitution to include the junta appointed senate. Tony will arrive in Thailand to find that he's not as welcome as he thought... if he has the balls to finally follow through on his promise to return.

Why Thai political spectators behave as if he is still relevant blows my mind. He abandoned the people years ago, and he profited greatly from corrupt practices in his government. There was a reason he was deposed, and quite frankly, it was a good reason. He was as dirty and corrupt as any before us now.

All of this blah blah..

Meanwhile, there are big doings behind the curtain.. but we can't....
