On November 7th, 2023, Lumpini police officers captured a tuk-tuk driver who allegedly hit British and Indian tourists with a steel wrench in Pathumwan, Bangkok, on November 5th.

 

According to the report from Lumpini police, an investigation on local CCTV found the alleged suspect and a tuk-tuk’s license plate. The alleged suspect was later identified as Mr. Atthaphon Phiw-on, 32.

 

Atthaphon reportedly confessed his wrongdoings that he committed physical assault by hitting both foreign tourists in the head with a steel wrench because they could not agree on a fare and there was a language barrier.

Life time ban form holding a public licence to transport passengers in any type of vehicle.

Something for the tourists to tell everyone about when they get home. You don't get that kind of experience in many countries.
