The Energy Regulatory Commission is planning to raise electricity prices from 3.99 to 4.68 baht per unit from January-April next year. The prime minister will hold discussions in order to try and find a solution to the proposed rate hike.

There were calls for  the government to revamp the country's allocation of domestic natural gas supplies to ensure access and fair prices.

Anti narcotics officers  confiscated more assets belonging to a Senator who’s alleged to have connections with drug networks.

Authorities seized 70 items worth some 476.million baht including luxury cars, weapons and 30 plots of land at 22 locations from Chaing rai, down to Rayong.  Officers said the senator was cooperating with police.

A house owner named ‘Mr Praween", has been charged in connection with the shooting and death of a highway police officer at a party at his house in Nakhon Pathom province on Sept 6. Another man who fled the scene was later killed during a shootout with police in Kanchanaburi.  

Mr Praaween and 23 others were charged with neglegence in failing  prevent the incident, 5 other police officers were not charged and released.

Train Passengers who change between the Red and Purple railway system using contactless payment, will be charged a flat fayre of just 20 baht from today. The flat fayre system is being piloted to reduce financial pressures on passengers.
