A late-night encounter with an elderly woman asleep on her tricycle sparked a viral sensation and an outpouring of sympathy. TikTok user @nongpraew56, a young model, mistakenly turned down a dim side street and discovered an elderly woman sleeping on a three-wheeled bicycle laden with collected scrap.

 

Accompanied by a friend, the model approached the sleeping woman, waking her gently. The woman shared her life’s circumstances, revealing that she lived in the forest and cared for 20 to 30 stray dogs. Touched by her story, the young model gave the woman some money for food, receiving a heartfelt blessing in return.

 

The video quickly went viral, amassing over 1.8 million views. Viewers responded with empathy, expressing concern for the elderly woman’s harsh living conditions and admiration for her compassion towards stray dogs. Some commenters warned the model of the potential dangers of such night-time encounters, emphasising the fortunate outcome that the elderly woman was not a criminal.

Gosh, I hate to be this way.  And I don't know any of the players from Adam or Eve. 

 

But every time I see something go viral like this (with all the revenue and donation potential), I can't help but wonder if it was staged.

To care for 20 to 30 dogs is a big task . ( I know it , because I do it as well )

that is the most inconsiderate, heartless and low-life comment a person can make. sometimes life deals you a losing hand no matter how hard you try. you better pray nothing like that ever happens to you or one of your loved ones. 

I sometimes stop and give money to elderly people pushing carts down the road foraging for recyclables.  I have had a few refuse the money.

managing by sleeping on the bike? You know then pension here is around 600 baht a month, that is if you are lucky to get it.

If politicians had the guts to get rid of corruption once and for all, no people in Thailand would have to live like this! All the money from brown envelopes, could be used to help the poor and elderly to get a better life.

Exactly... people like the brown uniform brigade raking in millions, military mis-spending, kick-backs, skimming, officials like the excise man taking what belongs to the people.

i give to the poor and needy on a regular basis, ie food, money, clothes, medical aid; but i would never extract them from the lifestyle they choose..so think again before you sling off at folk.
