Court postpones ruling on PAD core members regarding airport seizures in 2008

A Criminal Court has postponed its ruling on former key members of the now-defunct People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD), who are accused of laying siege to Bangkok’s Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi International Airports in 2008.

The Court said the delay is because the four defendants were not present at the hearing today and ordered them to appear on January 17.

When public prosecutors filed the lawsuit against the group 15 years ago, there were 32 defendants (including ASTV Co, Ltd), but one has already died.

Is that the same cause as for the other 50 times it has been delayed since 2008

If ever found guilty, will they all receive the same tough punishment currently being dished out to Thaksin, holiday camp with benefits?

I am wondering what the court does.. In 15 years time they can't produce a decision.. same as many old cases about Thaksin and Yingluck, delaying everything except if it are protestors.

2008! Let's not rush now! 🙏

It takes time to build a rock solid case,

but depending on who you are it can take seconds to drop one.

I thought that PAD stood for People Against Democracy.  It seems that i was wrong.

I suspect this is one of those cases where the “system” will just drag out long enough such that the major players are now either deceased or too ill for the process to continue and/or the case effects gets forgotten by the public so that no action is really needed any longer and it can quietly and administratively “delayed” indefinitely.

Justice delayed is justice denied. Whatever the rights and wrongs it cannot be fair to put people in jeopardy for this period. Rivalling Indian courts for glacial progress.

I don't think the court is that sympathetic to the yellow shirts. They caused a huge economic loss to the country. I do think the wheels of justice grind slowly here so I would expect these bozos to get some prison time eventually.

Just my opinion.
