The Thai private sector should brace for a global economic reset, amidst the uncertainty over geo politics and the changing political landscape, which will lead to a multi-polar world order and the advent of artificial intelligence (AI), warned Dr. Phatcharaphot Nuntramas, first executive vice present and chief economist of the state-run Krungthai Bank.

Citing the assessment of the Thai economy this year by Krungthai COMPASS, the bank’s research centre, he said that Thailand’s economic growth this year will be around 2.7%, while export growth is estimated at just 1.8% due to the economic slowdown in Thailand’s main trading partners, especially in the United States and China, which is affecting Thailand’s industrial sector.

Thai tourism continues to expand this year, but arrivals for the whole year are expected to be around 34 million, which is fewer than the 40 million arrivals during the pre-COVID pandemic period.

It's not a change in the global world order that Thailand needs to be afraid of, it's a huge economic correction that is likely coming in the next year or two, that is going to have a dramatic effect on tourism and exports both.

Thailand needs to get it's own house in order, not worry what the rest of the world thinks might happen.

The problem is Thailand relies on foreign trade and tourism for its GDP...

domestic purchasing is at an all time low, manufacturing dropping monthly.

We will be afraid when all our bank accounts will be cancelled if you are not in the good bank that will be saved.

It's not a good idea to be holding a lot of money in banks right now, imo.

The American Empire is no more sustainable. So, a new multipolar world order is emerging, this is inevitable.

We're living interesting times, especially for Western countries and Westerners.

You're right but I don't see many other possibilities where to make it safe.

...ha ha you're a joker surely ...as Communist China deflates because the west is moving capital & companies out of communist china into other parts, furthermore communist china debt is astronomical ( the stuff we know), meanwhile USA is booming regardless of its debt & inflation ( better the devil you know). So a little bit of advice ...stop reading communist propaganda like a good little red cadre and get or try to develop an open mind.
