Popular Post webfact
Police in Phuket are trying to trace a foreign tourist who abandoned a jeep on Kamala Beach after it got stuck in wet sand. And the tide was rising! Around 9.30am on Sunday, March 3, Kamala Police were notified about a bright green rental Jeep that had been abandoned on the beach. It’s understood the vehicle had become stuck in the shoreline sand. Officers arrived on the scene to find one of the Jeep’s wheels was firmly embedded in the sand. Front wheel hubs locked? Reduced tyre pressure (10 - 14 psi)? 1

Likely not even a real 4 wheel drive, and do you think a casual driver would know all those tricks to get unstuck. 2
connda
What do you expect the guy to do? Sit in it until he drowns. I'd be out looking for help to get the Jeep unstuck.
Popular Post impulse
I stuck my 2WD Mitsubishi Cyclone in the soft sand near Jomtien beach when I foolishly tried to get closer to the beach to launch my inflatable off the trailer it was on. Nowhere close to the tide line, but embarrassing nonetheless. Found a couple of locals who tied on a rope and pulled me out with their pickup. (More accurately, they found me, we all laughed a little, then they offered to pull me out.) They didn't even ask for any money but I handed each of them 1000 baht to ease my embarrassment. Abandoning the Jeep in the surf was unforgivable. But then, I've driven on remote Texas beaches for decades where the culture pretty much dictates we help each other- after a good laugh. Half a dozen stout locals could have gotten that thing unstuck without a tow vehicle. Maybe 10 if it was really sticky sand.
ChipButty
Probably belongs to some poor rental company, now they will have come and get it out, some tourist do some nasty things with the bike and car rentals, I know a couple friends who have quite a lot of vehicles, driving to the airport and dumping it there as they get their flights home, that's a <deleted> trick,

Are you for real? Hard to clone a Jeep without 4WD! The casual driver, even in Aus., should never drive onto a beach.

But I've seen 60+ year old cars in Thailand rebuilt to look like new. I've also looked at some rental Jeeps in Pattaya years ago that, on closer inspection, were obviously older than dirt. Probably left over from the Vietnam War. Perhaps even Korea or WW2. But they looked great from afar. Edited March 5 by impulse
SiSePuede419
That looks like a toy car my toddler would play with. Obviously the driver is a Jenius. When you're going to the beach to sit in the hot sun? You drive there and back in the hot sun because you're too stupid to get a rental with a roof. Be on the lookout (BOLO) for dumb Farang who looks red like a beet. 😜
The Old Bull
If I go driving on a beach first I make sure the tide is out. Second I make sure I am following existing tyre tracks. Never had a problem yet

brianthainess
Thought I read that he was waiting to be rescued and was playing music while he waited. I also thought he had phoned for help, maybe he just got fed up waiting and peed off.
