Palm Cove gets crocodiles. Not good for swimming.

"Best beach" is very subjective.

My top two ...

1. Cocklawburn

2. Bamburgh

Bloody freezing 49 weeks of the year, and never crowded - even during those 3 weeks of sunshine.

Best beaches I've ever been at, on & in:

... many of Phukets ... BUT ... during the pandemic

they were clean & empty (now-I wouldn't bother)

... Ko Chang, Ranong (at high tide, 20 yrs ago)

... Southern FL, USA, from Boca Raton down to Key West

... Puerto Rico (west coast)

... Bimini, Bahamas (best, but 35 yrs ago)

... Walker's Kay, Bahamas, and a few others

... Cozumel, Mexico

... Yucatan beaches

... Grand Caymans

... St Martins

maybe it is just an opinion?

You can add from the entire Florida Panhandle south to Key West, then north to Sarasota.

Was never a big fan of the Gulf side.  Use to almost live at Clearwater Beach, and never went in the surf.  At the beach a lot, but never ventured in.

I could easily live in FL, especially after living here.

Koh Chang's beaches are still fine and so is the air quality.

Every writer has different criteria check out Conde Nast and you will see different articles with different beachers listed.

Where is Thailand?

Between Burma in the west/north west, Laos in the north, Cambodia in the east and Malaysia in the south😊

Whoa .... brain freeze ... I actually meant Ko Phayam.   Holy crap, don't know how I had Ko Chang in my head.

On that, Phayam, only 1 resort on the bay when I was there, now there's at least 3 on each side of the those bungalows, with more behind them.  Hope they have proper septic & waste water systems, and not piping into the bay or khlong running into the bay.

Though it would be kind of obvious, as low tide, and the surf disappears for 100 meters or so.

You really do need to thaw your brain, the surf disappears?, are you saying there is always surf there?

Was thinking of driving from Chiang Mai to Koh Chang.

Lots of great beaches around the globe. Very subjective. No Florida or California beaches listed either and only 1 Hawaiian...doesn't mean they're not great.
