Popular Post webfact
Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) tightens collaborations with Denmark and Sweden in a meeting with the Nordic Police Liaison Office. The goal is to develop new tactics and tackling illegal activities in accordance with the global standards for corruption. The cooperation between the Nordic countries is both bilateral and multilateral and extends to exchange of legal information, coordinate cases, and to collaborate academically in order to share knowledge of fighting corruption. The initiative aims at suppressing and preventing corruption and be beneficial in raising the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) of Thailand. The Thai newsagency the Nation published an article yesterday saying the NACC’s Secretary General Niwatchai Kasemmongkol, Assistant Attache/Liaison Officer Carsten Andersen, the Nordic Police Affairs Department at the Danish Embassy in Thailand Jane Ohlsson, Assistant Ambassador Officer for Police Affairs in the Nordic Countries at the Swedish Embassy in Thailand, NACC’s executives and representatives from the Bureau of International Affair and Corruption Investigation, the Bureau of Investigation and Special Operation met on 8 March 2024 to discuss the topic. by Charlotte Nike Albrechtsen Full story: ScandAsia 2024-03-23 - Discover how Cigna Insurance can protect you with a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment. Popular Post spidermike007
Denmark and Sweden are likely quite competent and sincere, when it comes to fighting corruption. They will be stymied on every level with their Thai counterparts who are masterful at putting on a good show. The chances of them actually engaging in a real fight, or a meaningful battle are next to nil. Even the anti-corruption commission itself is likely spectacularly corrupt, completely inept and powerless to fight the corruption within the government, the army, immigration, the RTP, customs and countless other agencies. Corruption has a very safe and secure home within Thailand. Edited March 22 by spidermike007 2 1 4 1

Popular Post Surasak
One good reason for Thailand to team up with Denmark and Sweden to fight corruption. The more the Thai's learn, the easier it will be for them to cover it up! 2
Popular Post dinsdale
Off to a good start. Two out of seven aren't corrupt. 😉 Denmark ranked number 1 (least corrupt) Sweden number 6 and Thailand number 108. Good luck there. You can't get beer from a cow. Thailand is corrupt top to bottom. Corruption is endemic in this country and every single person here knows this. https://www.transparency.org/en/cpi/2023 Edited March 23 by dinsdale 3 1
AlexPattaya
I believe corruption is systematic worldwide and both Thailand and other countries fight it to the best of their abilities! Humans unfortunately are flawed and succumb to easy money sometimes and it’s something that probably will never be completely gone! But the efforts worldwide to combat corruption are to be applauded and welcomed! 3
Popular Post Srikcir
"Thailand collaborates with Sweden and Denmark to fight corruption" I can imagine Sweden and Denmark telling Thailand 'just apply the rule of law equally to everyone' and Thailand responding 'what's the kickback?'

Corruption is at best overlooked and at worst encouraged. Corruption is in the fabric of those who are in a position to be corrupt. Army, govt, judiciary, police, local govt, school directors, hospital directors the list goes on. Corruption is part of Thai culture be it on the side that benefits or the side that pays. You can bet that anyone who is done for corruption here there will be the corrupt on the other side that benefits. Under normal circumstances one would hope that they could learn by example, but I would have to be very optimistic to think that applies here. It is merely off Broadway theater. There is some truth to that for instance my home nation the US is likely one of the most corrupt countries in the world when it comes to politics. Corporations and rich individuals are still allowed to fund local politics on an anonymous basis, and this has been fought at the highest level in the Supreme Court on multiple occasions. And the morally bankrupt US Supreme Court continues to side with corporations and billionaires. You are more than welcome to hide your unbelievably corrosive and corrupt funding, with the blessing of the government and the high court. Disgusting.
