Democrats Mount Criticism of RFK Jr.'s Presidential Bid Amid VP Pick Controversy

As the 2024 presidential race heats up, Democrats are intensifying their scrutiny of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s independent candidacy, particularly following his selection of Nicole Shanahan as his running mate. The announcement has sparked concerns among pro-President Biden circles, who view Kennedy's campaign as a potential spoiler that could aid former President Trump's reelection bid.

Kennedy's decision to tap Shanahan, a philanthropist and patent attorney, has stirred both excitement and controversy within political circles. While some view the move as a strategic maneuver to generate buzz and fulfill ballot requirements in several states, others condemn it as a misguided venture fueled by GOP funds and conspiracy theories.

Criticism of Kennedy's candidacy has escalated in recent weeks, with the Democratic National Committee (DNC) spearheading efforts to undermine his campaign. Elected Democrats from swing states have been vocal in their condemnation, labeling Kennedy as a spoiler backed by Trump's top supporters.

The DNC's concerted push to discredit Kennedy reflects growing concerns about his potential impact on the election outcome. With both parties' primaries pointing to a Biden-Trump rematch, Democrats are increasingly wary of third-party candidates who could siphon votes away from Biden in critical battlegrounds.

Kennedy's ideological alignment with aspects of the MAGA movement, particularly his stance on vaccines and skepticism towards conventional medicine, has further fueled speculation about his ties to the Trump-aligned GOP. A newly launched super PAC, Clear Choice, has launched a campaign portraying Kennedy as a MAGA-backed candidate intent on advancing Trump's agenda.

The DNC's efforts to paint Kennedy as a Trump sympathizer underscore the high stakes of the 2024 election and the perceived threat posed by independent candidates. With memories of past elections marred by third-party spoilers still fresh, Democrats are leaving no stone unturned in their bid to secure victory for Biden.

Kennedy's candidacy has also drawn criticism from pro-Trump Republicans, who fear that his presence in the race could dilute support for the former president. Despite his relatively strong showing in polling, Kennedy faces significant challenges, including fundraising hurdles and skepticism about his ability to mount a viable challenge to the two-party system.

The addition of Shanahan to Kennedy's ticket represents a strategic gambit to bolster his campaign's appeal and viability. Described as a "brilliant scientist" and a "fierce warrior mom" by Kennedy, Shanahan brings a fresh perspective and expertise to the ticket, positioning them as a formidable alternative to the establishment candidates.

As the 2024 election enters a crucial phase, Kennedy's candidacy continues to be a subject of intense scrutiny and debate. While his detractors portray him as a disruptive force with dangerous ties to Trumpism, his supporters view him as a principled advocate for change and a viable alternative to the political status quo.

In the coming months, Kennedy and Shanahan will face mounting pressure to prove their viability as a third-party ticket and overcome the formidable challenges standing in their way. Whether they can translate their momentum into electoral success remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the 2024 presidential race promises to be one of the most unpredictable and contentious in recent memory.

The Dems are terrified. It's written all over both their faces.

Well, they allowed Biden to run again. They made their bed, now they must lie in it (in more ways than one).

Recent special election results suggest you are misinformed.

If the DNC had allowed the voters to fairly decide who's on the ballot, RFK Jr would have been trounced in the primaries with not enough time to form a 3rd party candidacy.

They're getting exactly what they created.  Too bad if they don't like it.

He dropped out from his Dem primary bid and decided to run as an independent. Nothing to do with the DNC.

That's what the DNC would like you to believe.

In reality, they made it so hard to even get on the primary ballots he decided to run as a 3rd party candidate.  Shades of what happened to Bernie...  The DNC Elite consider the ballot decisions too important to trust to the voters.

DNC does not have the legal power to block him. If they do have the power, they would have done that when he announced his candidacy for the primaries. He is a conspiracy theorist and he want you to believe that was the case. The voters know what he is and he know he didn’t stand any chance in the primaries  He dropped out to be an independent.

Democrats ramp up attacks on RFK Jr.: ‘He should be ashamed of himself’

“I am personally offended and just disgusted by his campaign,” Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) said during a call hosted by the Democratic National Committee (DNC). “He should be ashamed of himself. He should stop running for president.”

A nail in the coffin for the cultural Marxist supporters attempt to re elect biden imop. Trump save the Constitutional Republic.

Before the announcement!

“Kennedy is by far the greatest spoiler,

drawing an average of 9.9% of the overall vote.

Harvard /Harris poll released last week found he commanded as much as 15% of the electorate”.

Kennedy is likely to take votes from both Trump and Biden.

All 7 of them, is American democracy at stake here??? :whistling:

You call that democracy? If it takes $2b to get elected  president of that country it is far from being a true democracy. The Economy Group classifies it as being a flawed democracy same as Thailand. I would more accurately call it a corrupt flawed democracy. So the Democrats against democracy are up in arms. Boo-hoo is all I have to say after the way the DNC stole that nomination from Bernie twice

You mentioned Bernie. They did him twice, and now they are doing it to Kennedy. Seems they never learn from their mistakes.

What the DNC Elite learned from the Bernie experience is that they can ignore the will of the voters with impunity, and get away with it.

And conversely Trump and his numbskulls are yet to learn from the January 6th experience that they cannot 'ignore the will of the voters with impunity and get away with it'.

That's the stupidity.  Had the DNC allowed RFK Jr on the primary ballots, he would have been trounced, and too late to mount an independent campaign.  And they wouldn't have the 3rd party threat going forward.  But for the optics, they kept RFK off the primary ballots to give the Big Guy a boost, as if he needed it to win the primaries.

Edit:  It's the DNC Elite warning anyone and everyone for the future...  We get to decide who gets on the ballot.  Not the voters.  Apparently, they didn't get their message across clearly enough abusing Bernie and his voters.
