A 54-year-old traffic policeman in Bangkok was killed after being hit by a taxi yesterday. The officer from Bang Khen police station had been directing traffic at a charity event,  The officer was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital. The taxi driver was breathalyzed and found to be well over the legal limit. He was charged with reckless driving causing death and driving a public transport vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.


Officers from the department of   Technology and crime, and the electricity authority raided illegal Bitcoin mining operations at a  a warehouse in Samut Sakhon where they found 187 Bitcoin mining machines,  and another 465 were found in Ratchaburi, Both operators were found to have bypassed the electricity meters. The electricity bill was estimated at 9,000 baht per month per machine totalling some 5 million baht losses.


The minister of transport says a survey into a proposed 41 kilometer tram line running from Phuket airport is making good progress, construction is expected to start by 2028 and should be operational by 2031.  


A new survey of 13 hundred people by the National Institute of Development, NIDA
found that almost 52 percent of respondents did not believe that a draft royal decree regulating the Ministry of Defence would help prevent another coup. 


Almost 62 percent also believed the 2014 coup would not be the final coup.

The Philippines announced the suspension of in-person classes at all public schools for two days after a record-shattering day of heat in the capital Manila where temperatures reached 45 degrees.
