The National Police Chief Torsak Suk-wimon , who was transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office in March, and his wife are due to address charges for failing to reporting two properties they own in London to the National Anti-Corruption Commission.    

 

Torsak maintains his innocence, stating that he informed the Commission about the London homes in 2022. Both were scheduled to acknowledge the summonses last Tuesday but requested a postponement. The NACC concluded that Torsak and his wife failed to declare the two houses in London, valued at approximately 20 million baht.


The central criminal court sentenced a police captain to 50 years in prison for embezzling bail money from a police station. Originally sentenced to 125 years, her term was reduced due to her cooperation. She pleaded not guilty but returned 450,000 baht after an investigation found the account 720,000 baht short. The court found her guilty and ordered her to return 270,000 baht to the Police.


Bangkok's governor announced new measures to regulate street vendors, including income checks, taxation, and eventually banning pavement stalls. Even if vendors' incomes are not taxable, they must register in the national income database. The goal is to keep the city neat and tidy. Areas where vendors don't obstruct pedestrians will remain open. The new regulations will be published in the Royal Gazette.


A kangaroo, which escaped from Chiang Mai Zoo earlier this week has been found dead in a stream at Doi Suthep national park, officials from Chiang Mai Zoo had been searching for anima since Wednesday morning. 
The price of diesel went up by 50 satang per litre this morning, one liter now costs  32.94 baht .
