The government aims to attract skilled foreign workers, by introducing new types of visa draw overseas talent and support economic growth. A New long Term Resident visa looks set to be introduced, targeting specialists, remote workers, high-income individuals, and retirees with family.

 

This visa offers a 10-year stay with unlimited re-entries, work permits, and a personal income tax reduction of up to 17% percent for specialists, along with annual instead of 90 day reporting to the Immigration department.


The Move Forward Party submitted its written defense to the Constitutional Court in a case brought  by the Election Commission.


The Commission sought ‘Move Forward’s’ dissolution after the Constitutional Court ruling in January which said the party's push for changes to the lese majeste law, were grounds for the party’s dissolution. In a written statement the party says it had no intention to undermine the democratic regime with the King as head of state as charged, The move forward party says it will hold a press conference on Sunday the 9th.


Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin says, Thaksin Shinawatra will not attempt to flee the country again in order to escape a lese-majeste case that has been brought against him, The PM made his comments after meeting Thakins Daughter Paetongtarn who was confident her father would  not leave the country, saying I think he is ready to fight the lese majeste case. Thakin returned last August after spending 17 years in exile.    

        
A leading virologist at Chulalongkorn University has issued a statement saying,  Most people do not need to get a booster against the latest strain of Covid-19, unless they are in a vulnerable category, or unvaccinated. He added the severity of the virus has consistently decreased, similar to other respiratory illnesses, thanks to the high levels of vaccinations.
