A Thai man, enduring his 21st heartbreak, tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge in Udon Thani, a province in Isaan. This was not his first suicide attempt; the man, Natthawut Sanphakarn, had made several previous attempts to take his life.

The story of Natthawut first made news locally and internationally in September of last year when he tried to end his life by jumping from a bridge. The police were able to intervene and prevent the suicide. It was during this instance that the officers found out that Natthawut had experienced heartbreak 20 times, which was driving his thoughts of suicide.

In the most recent incident on July 1, Natthawut again tried to take his own life by jumping off a bridge at the Runsina Market in Udon Thani. A rescue team from the Udon Sawang Maeta Dhammasathan Foundation arrived and closely monitored him.

Rescuers revealed that Natthawut had tried to end his life numerous times before in different ways, including trying to jump from various bridges and once laying on a railway track. Thankfully, police and rescue teams were able to reach him each time and prevent his death.

According to the rescuers, Natthawut actually did not jump off the bridge this time, but only stood on the edge, leading them to believe that he sought attention more than anything else.

Natthawut, talking to both the officers and the media, admitted that he had suffered various heartbreaks, the latest being from a woman named Boss who had recently left him.

He confessed that while many women were attracted to his genuine love for them, none were interested in a serious relationship with him, leaving him unable to find true love. This led him to contemplate suicide as a solution.

Suspecting a mental health issue, the officers from Mueang Udon Thani Police Station chose to take Natthawut to Udon Thani Hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment instead of taking him home, as they usually did. They found alcohol in his system but no drugs.

In a statement, a spokesperson from the Thai Police expressed little sympathy for his situation, suggesting that his actions unnecessarily drain police resources. They wished him luck in his future romantic pursuits.
