Public Health Minister Discusses Change in Cannabis Status Amid Protests

On July 9, 2024, Somsak Thepsuthin, the Public Health Minister, spoke out about the ongoing debate over labeling cannabis a type 5 drug by the Ministry of Public Health's Narcotics Control Committee. The proposal is currently under review by the Narcotics Control Board (NCB) and a decision is expected by the month’s end.

Thailand Set to Improve Third-Class Trains with Air Conditioning and Seating Upgrades

The Thailand State Railway (SRT) plans to enhance its third-class train services and facilities by investing 780 million baht in new seating and air conditioning. For this project's initial phase, scheduled for next year, 130 of these carriages will be fitted with air conditioning.
