LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
So what are the latest thoughts on which, if any, tax benefits will remain for the LTR visa once the taxation of global income is introduced as evidently planned by the Thai government (see article two days ago in the newspaper which cannot be mentioned)? -

US Medicare - what do most expats do?
Yes that is what I do. And believe me that is fun compared to the family headaches that occupy most of my annual trips back....! -

Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
If the bargirl is the spouse, mother or daughter of the remitter - yes. But somehow I think, these are not the typical cases. In other cases, there must be a moral obligation for the gift, and it should be customary. You could argue, that gifts to your dek are customary in Thailand, but the TRD would not appreciate you saying this. Money given to bargirls, as well as to freelancers with a day job, no matter remitted from where, is taxable income. @Danderman123has a point here. Tomorrow I will apply at Soi 6, seems to be an easy way to avoid taxes. -

For that episode you recount, was that the U.S. price at the time for that procedure, or the price for having it done here in Thailand? -

Restore lost Yellow Book
You will need the owner of the property where you want to register your new yellow-book to assist, as it is "their house". Your pink-ID would also be needed. I would ask at the amphur - or have a Thai-speaking person call and ask them what they need to see. You may also have to report the old yellow-book lost, if they want to see that, as well - you would show them the police-report and a copy, instead. -

Air conditioner is dripping water, is that normal?
I lived here for a long time without air conditioning, but during the last heatwave, I decided to buy one at GlobalHouse. Some guys came over the next day to install it. Since day one, it’s been dripping water, and every morning there's a big puddle underneath. As it’s installed directly under our patio door, it’s become a problem. Is this something normal, like condensation, and nothing can be done about it? Or is it something I should complain about that can be fixed? -

Definitely not AFAIAC. Anyone thinking of retiring in Thailand now would have to be brain dead. -

Chulalongkorn Hospital
Nope. Chula and Siriraj are very Thai hospitals. But ... If you know the doctor's name you can arrange an appointment (waiting upto 45 days). Success story: one sad guy had spine damage. severe. we found out the top surgeon from Chula. he waited almost 2 months for an appointment. got it. later got surgery - some "titanium thingies". 400K Is fine now. no more tramal/ultram He's 53-ish now. PS: Doctor speaks perfect English (for khun Thai) My point: it is not a hospital that cures. It's a doctor (Mrs.Walker <<< love it!) -

US Medicare - what do most expats do?
Sheryl, so, you're talking about scheduling those kind of preventive and diagnostic procedures covered by Medicare specifically when you're traveling back to the U.S. periodically for whatever reasons? And here, silly me, as a soon to be eligible for Medicare person, I've always thought of my trips back to the U.S. as vacation and having fun times -- not going for colonoscopies!!! 🙂 I guess I'm going to have to reconsider that outlook, once I get my Medicare card!!! -

You know that's plain wrong, any income remitted the year of earning has always been taxable. For instance anyone who got his pension transferred directly has always been liable to pay IT on that income. For that reason I have always "seasoned" my pension and continue to do so as RD 743 in ambiguous in that regard. -

I'd say the Hilton for location, Central Mall right there for restaurants and shopping. -

Lawsuit Challenges Paetongtarn’s PM Status Over Thavi Appointment
She is a fraud, like many other so-called Thai "leaders". They like to embellish themselves, always trying to feel more important then they really are, just another pig, this one with lipstick on it.
