Pheu Thai Party Excludes Military-Backed Party (short)

Pheu Thai Party Excludes Military-Backed Party: Thailand's Pheu Thai Party has decided to exclude the military-backed Palang Pracharat Party from its coalition government, signalling a rift within the alliance. The decision follows outrage over Palang Pracharat's leader, Prawit Wongsuwon, missing a key parliamentary vote to approve new Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. Despite losing the 40 seats held by Palang Pracharat, Pheu Thai still expects a majority with over 300 of the 500 parliamentary seats, bringing in a splinter faction and the Democrat Party. Palang Pracharat's spokesperson criticized the move as a breach of their agreement.

I predicted this last week when Tony installed his daughter as PM, the split has now begun, and dare I suggest the possibility of a Military coup within the next 12 months as very few coalitions work in harmony !!!!

I predict a few more journalists being punched.

If this gets acrimonious we could see another Military coup taking over with another exit for Thaksin. More probably a swift moving of chess pieces and reorganizing of Coalition partners to move The People's Party into Leadership contention fulfilling the Thai people's overwhelming choice in the last election. The CC would probably throw that idea out and we go back to another Coup. TIT.

That doesn't sound quite right. More likely Pheu Thai positioning itself in the Centre (and in the process loosening military ties) so it can better face the People's Party on its left at the next election. Without such a move PT looks like loosing a great deal at that election. Meantime the military nitwits have nowhere much to go, apart from crying into their beers.
