Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, known for his ambitious plans to colonize Mars, has firmly aligned himself with the Republican camp for the 2024 U.S. presidential election. The SpaceX CEO recently made headlines with his claim that the success of a mission to Mars hinges on the outcome of the upcoming election. In a pointed critique, Musk stated, "Trump supports a government efficiency commission to allow great things to be done, Kamala does not," adding, "We will never reach Mars if Kamala wins."

 

Musk's comments were made on X, the social media platform he owns, following the first U.S. presidential debate, where Vice President Kamala Harris was widely perceived to have outperformed former President Donald Trump, whom Musk openly supports. In a series of posts, Musk expressed his dissatisfaction with the debate, arguing that the hosts were "not fair" to Trump, further demonstrating his alignment with the former president.

 

Musk's longstanding dream of sending humans to Mars has been a central focus of his career, with his company SpaceX leading the charge in space exploration. On Saturday, Musk announced his intention to launch his Starships to Mars without a crew in just two years. If this mission proves successful, he aims to send the first crewed flight to the Red Planet in four years.

 

This timeline underscores Musk's sense of urgency and the importance he places on the 2024 presidential election. His comments suggest that he believes the policies of the current administration, particularly those of Vice President Harris, could hinder his plans to achieve this monumental feat. People are used to Musk saying very strange things. I think there's no question the Musk is a brilliant man, but he does not seem to be a particularly great businessman, and he reminds me of someone else in that his statements always seem to be the equivalent of shooting himself in the foot.

 

His outbursts about sponsors and advertising on X was the height of stupidity, hubris, arrogance and ignorance. And it definitely seems to be coming back and biting him on the butt. Not that you're looking for advice Elon, but I would suggest in the future that you don't antagonize, insult and piss off the people that support you monetarily. 

 

Just another reason not to vote for Trump. We have no business trying to put humans on other planets until we learn to live compatibly, both socially and environmentally, on this one. Until we do, missions like this should not be called "colonizing." They should be called "metastasizing."

I agree, he is a mover and shaker and I have admired him for years but lately I sense there is something wrong about him, I can't express it in words, he seems erratic and arrogant but there is also something else, it's like listening to a conman speaking and you sense that somethings not right but you can't put your finger on it. He is certainly becoming too powerful for the good of society.

If the mission to Mars succeeds in removing Musk from Earth permanently IMO it will be worth every cent.

Just because Hes a Brilliant Engineer, doesn't  mean that he's a Brilliant Politician, or Care Worker, or Farmer, or  anything other than an ENGINEER, with the MONEY to buy other orofession about which he knows little  !

If he wants to build TRUMPTON on Mars, I hope that he's got a VERY large supply of Potatoes  !
