A 30-year-old woman tragically fell from the fifth floor of a well-known shopping mall in the Lat Phrao area of Bangkok, with investigators discovering mysterious footprints near the balcony railing. Authorities are urgently reviewing CCTV footage to determine the true cause of the incident.

On October 12 at around 21:30, Pol. Capt. Anucha Pleansamai, Deputy Inspector of Phahon Yothin Police Station, received a report of a person falling from a height inside the mall located in Soi Lat Phrao 1, Chom Phon, Chatuchak district. Investigators rushed to the scene along with forensic officers, a medical examiner from the Police General Hospital, and a rescue team from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation.

The incident occurred on the B floor, in the IT and food court zone, near the central escalator. The victim, identified as Ms. Phattaraporn Phutthaphonpot, 30, was found lying face-up, wearing a white long-sleeved jacket and a brown pleated skirt. She had scrapes on her left thigh, and her neck and right leg were visibly broken. Building staff quickly erected red tents to shield the scene from public view and prevent panic among shoppers. Despite immediate attempts at CPR by rescuers, Ms. Phattaraporn succumbed to her injuries shortly after.

Investigators have since discovered unexplained footprints near the balcony railing on the fifth floor, where the fall occurred. Authorities are urgently reviewing footage from the mall’s CCTV system to piece together the exact events that led to the tragedy.

The victim’s body has been sent to the Police General Hospital’s forensic institute for an autopsy, as the investigation continues.
