Dear Folks,

It seems to me that the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse knows, infamously, almost ZERO about science.

And yet, this same horseman is chock-full of confidence.

Maybe...

This is a bad combination?

Anyway, for some reason this horseman seems to be worried about Nuclear Warming.

Did he actually mean:  Nuclear Winter?

We will never know.

Still, being a Musk admirer, myself, I was happy to learn that Musk is right:

If we push atmospheric CO2 concentrations above 1000 PPM.....then....

Yes, we will begin to find it difficult to breath, or at the very least we will feel ill.

So, my good friend Musk is correct...once again.

Long before this, however, we may find that we have just too many other problems on our hands...to...

Even worry about breathing.

Personally, I do believe that Musk can solve this problem of overly-high CO2 concentrations of this gas....in our atmosphere.

Still, I doubt he will ever fully wish to address the environmental problems caused by this other gas emitter, and you know who.

This is NOT a political conversation or Topic.

No.

No matter who is the US prez, it probably does not matter since...

Obviously there are other economic forces that are more in control of what happens to us, besides any single politician, even if he or she might be president of the USA.

In conclusion:

While I am still not out of breath due to changing atmospheric gas concentrations,

I am always amused to listen to those who base opinions on very questionable science, even if they have never taken a science course in their lives.

Mostly, the funniest guys are the ones who have studied LAW, and then go on to become lawyers.

Usually, it is the lawyers who seem to have the least understanding of basic science, among the intelligent population of the USA.

All Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are reasonably intelligent.

It's just that two of them do not know anything, seemingly, about science.

It's gonna be a fun time living in what yet remains of this amazing decade.

Don't you think?

Regards,

Gamma

Trump is scientifically illiterate. Musk is exaggerating, but only a little. Some people could probably cope with 1000 ppm.

Perhaps more importantly, 1000 ppm would not only affect global warming, but also acidification of the oceans. Resulting in dissolution of coral reefs, and disruption of various food chains.

Seafood on average is 17% of the human diet, not an insignificant percentage.

Most, if not all, scientists have been aware of this stark fact for decades.

It is only this Fourth Horseman who hasn't a clue.

Fortunately, this horseman is full of confidence.

Given the Geo-political nastiness globally between the West, its former colonies in the Global South (The White Man's Burden of course so we have been told since the 1400 hundreds), and now the tension with the RICS in BRICS (especially the RC), my personal opinion is that we'll experience thermo-nuclear madman-made global warming wayyyyyy before the supposed apocalypse of CO2 man-made global warming (which we have been told will end the Earth in 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, 2025, ohhhh 2030 for sure, oh golly gee 2035, oh gosh-darn before 2050 guaranteed) occurs.  The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypses will have the initials "ICBM" or "MAD" or "TEOTWAWKI" or "SHTF."

Well, madman-made global-warming in the millions of degrees C., followed by a madman-made global mini-ice-age.

Let's be clear what is meant by this wonderful phrase: The White Man's Burden.

This is a phrase which is extremely popular in places like Singapore.

Reality:  Rudyard Kipling's poem by the same name, defending racism and justifying colonial domination by framing it as a humanitarian effort - which is utter BS.  The world is waking up and shrugging off the yoke of Western colonialism, especially in the Global South.  It is way overdue.

Let's read it from the horse's mouth, why not?:

Oh! CALCUTTA!....

This has always been one of my favorite poems.

Hence, I may be be off to Malaya soon...

And to take up my burden, no matter the cost.

He was a product of his time but not a complete bigot as shown in 'The Ballad of East and West'

Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet,
Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment Seat;
But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth,
When two strong men stand face to face, though they come from the ends of the earth!

or in Gunga Din,

Though I've beaten you and flayed you

by the living god that made you

you're a better man than I am Gunga Din.

We are not only products of the era we live in but also the country in which we were born, it was obviously normal for an Englishman born in the time of Victoria to feel superiour to all other races. I may be wrong but I dimly remember a connection with the 'White mans burden' poem to the Americans ruling the Philippines after the Spanish war, perhaps the poem was a request.

After the ''war on terror'' and ''arab spring'' Musk is just a puppet used to redirect power away from the 3rd world dictators and the reliance on oil.  Silent weapons for silent wars.

The Trump assassination was staged as well.  Just more drama for a the mindless debt slaves to consume.

Musk and his rockets?  In order to keep the 99 percent uneducated and powerless they take the excess resources, put it in a rocket and detonate above while all the wage slaves stand there clapping.  Opps there goes 4,000 hospitals, 10,000 schools and a cure for cancer.

But the world leaders wouldn't go through all the massive efforts to move away from oil if they didn't have serious reason to believe that the planet will self-destruct if we don't.

They're making a fortune on oil. Why upset the world's biggest cash cow if not because they know there's no other option?

Because the "new" green energy will be way more profitable AND here is the point it gives THEM total control over all our daily lives, including food, finance, and actual existence on THEIR planet!

You're very cynical, young man.

And you might actually be right.

Sure as hell ain't MY planet.

A small correction Trump is scientifically illiterate. The real killer will be methane gas which due to warming by excess CO2 is being set free evermore in the frozen tundra and under the sea (methane ice is melting under the oceans), methane is a far more potent greenhouse gas than CO2. Musk, who I have always admired, has sold his soul to money and power. Trump can only have 4 more years, probably not even that considering both his mental and physical health but he will leave behind an army of sycophants and a poorly educated public to continue his life's work of division and chaos.

There is another factor, apart from methane. Albedo.

Ice reflects solar radiation. It has a high albedo.

Black rock absorbs solar radiation. It has a low albedo.

As ice melts and leaves behind bare rock, the planet absorbs more heat.

Between 1985 and 2022, Greenland's ice cap lost 1,140 billion tons.

Well as it happens we are at the lowest period in the Earths history of CO2 content. That is according to Ice core samples. Most don’t know that the Earths CO2 is at…. .04% and man’s contribution to that is .011% It would be the same as saying there is a grain of sugar on London Bridge that is making the whole area dirty. We have Al Gore to thank for the CO2 hype. Every Supermarket vegetable in plastic bags is filled with CO2 and the best part is they just had a shortage. Sometimes you just can’t make it up.

300,000 years ago, the earth's concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere was 200 ppm. The planet was just coming out of the last Ice Age. It's the same time humans appeared.

Since then, CO2 concentration rose to 300 ppm.  In the space of 299,700 years.

It has taken less than 300 years for man to increase CO2 content in the atmosphere by 40%. CO2 levels and global temperatures are strongly correlated.

I can only assume you flunked math, and were asleep when correlation and causation were being taught.
