What is your life improvements in Thailand

Featured Replies

So what improves your life in Thailand?

Everything is not like back home where we come from, wherever or whatever that is, we need to adjust and also improve a few things while living here.

I love the swimming and the opportunity to do so anywhere while even getting hosed down by the thoughtful staff on exceptionally hot days.

  • I've adjusted to more frequent sex with a smaller and younger woman. Oh, and cycling every day, 'cos the weather's better.   Apart from that I eat the same food, talk the same language

Relaxation all around me, rather than the rush and hurry I've lived through before. Incredible variety of ethnic foods at very low cost. Ease of daily routines. Friendly neighbors, smiling people on the streets. Plenty of good weather to enjoy the recreational facilities year-round.

Actually, that is that Cambodian, Trump loving American fugitive in the photo after he just took a dump. I posted his photo because I don't have any good ones of myself bathing in shrine water for purification like that.

The best thing with Thailand, is the possibility to live cheaply, with family, and also do some  travelling from north to south relatively safely, if you do not think too much about the traffic here which is horrible.

Food is one of the most important things for me to thrive, to be able to find some ingredients that can spice up the local food a bit, with western style and taste.

I'm not a big drinker, but some quality booze, beer and wine for the right occasion is also great together with some friends once and awhile.

However, I have no problem to be at the farm two weeks straight without leaving our land, plenty of things to keep myself busy, and if my wife goes with family shopping without me, even better, I can do one month or two. But at some point, I will require a trip for a holiday.

Cheese and wine not cheap like it is in Europe, but they make up for it with cheap hookers and weed.

That's a tough one......is your statement based on hatred or is it just pathetic?

Year round flip flop/shorts weather & the locals don’t flip off each other in traffic.

No, just over 20,000 road deaths per year, highest in the world. They just take more of a Darwinian approach.

more booze, more birds, more sun, more beaches, more food, more meds and more freedom.

Now, if only the Ruskies would go back home to enjoy the snow (and the bullets) everything would be just perfect!

Same old ... ease of access and cost of healthcare.  The basics or having simply procedures done.  Age & healthy dependent, how that affects anyone.

Basically no RE Taxes, or any taxes aside from VAT.  They are the 2 big ones.

Few more, all affecting the wallet, cost of living;  housing, EVs & solar system, all cheaper and better here.  Any cost influenced by labor, along with closeness to CN, and minimal if any tariffs.

Any other aspect are minimal.  People, food and the actually country, not much difference in the basics.   USA, more of everything, so options abound.

Good place to retire, IF, started a long time ago.  I wouldn't recommend to anyone today, and actually talked a friend out of it, today :coffee1:

Absolutely nothing. I'm very unhappy here and it started in 2021 after COVID "recovery".

I can't wait to go back home. Bored here every day. Nothing to do.

Another business class ticket back to Toronto in March/April and this time for good.

I used to be like that and then I discovered women again.

Get out there and pound a few, you will feel a whole lot better!

If you are that disillusioned why wait till next year to return home?

Today I saw two ambulances with lights and sirens stuck in traffic.  The second ambulance driver was honking his horn as well and possibly  had a critical patient in the back.  It took about 5 minutes before any of the vehicles in front started moving to the side so the the ambulance could at least creep up a little.  I hope not to be in an ambulance with a life threatening medical emergency.  Oh what the heck I would probably be half way to purgatory before any ambulance actually arrived at my place. Ok. It just doesn't matter if an ambulance actually arrives.

Wifey's work obligations.

The best thing ever I got here:

Becoming the master of my own time(24/7).

And it allowed me to make a personal development in the way I have never thought about before.

What I started after  my settlement here(in Chiang Mai) 19 years ago.

Playing the keyboard(since 2006).

Video editing(since 2020).

Making photo fridge magnets(since 2021).
