I married my thai gf 2 years back in my home country in Europe. Now we are in the process of getting the marriage legislated/legalised in Thailand.

I have got the marriage sertificate translated to english, its legislated by the local Notarius Publicus, aknowledged by ministry of foreign affairs and finally legalised by the thai embassy - after God know how many booked appointments, missed appointments, train trips back and forward, getting up before dawn, days off work etc etc.
Now the thai embassy tells us that the local amphur in Thailand need a legalised and approved copy of the document side of my passport as well…

😖

It means I have to go through the whole process again and this time with my passport including booking appointments and making trips to Notarius Publicus, ministry of foreign affairs, and the thai embassy AGAIN ANOTHER TIME!!!

So my question is - does the local amphur really need a legislated and legalised copy of the document site of my passport to get the marriage sertificate approved and legalised? Isnt it enough to show up and hand over the real passport to them along with the legalised marriage sertificate?

Has anyone been through this mess lately???
