Over the last few months I have been taking notes, both written & oral and a series of video recordings, documenting my interactions with both farangs and locals alike and I have decide that I am going to begin writing a book in 2025. I think that after living here for many years I now have enough material to make it fun, engaging, provocative and controversial. So far it is untitled and will be until I am well into the chapters but once it is finished and has been proof-read I will publish the title here. Hell I may even upload it for free but depending on how well it goes that may not be the case.

 

Watch this space!

and why on earth would I post the hundreds of hours of material that I own, that I recorded myself, to a public forum for people to enjoy for absolutely nothing in return except maybe an emoji or two?

 

Like I said, I may upload the book free, but that will be at my discretion at a later date.

You have only been 'this' member on AN for three months, and most of us have heard enough already thanks.

There are, and have been, many Members with similar, if not more unbelievable, life 'stories' than yours Colin, so please leave it to such luminaries as Bob Smith and the GGs to entertain us further, thanks.

Actually Sir, you have only been a Member since 5th September, so just over 90 days, in which you have only posted 254 times, which is less than one per day. Seems like a hell of a lot more.

It is your choice to write something or not.. Getting it published is an entirely different story. Making it in a way that does not shame or show Thailand in a bad way is nearly impossible as a foreigner if you write things that are factual. Why don't you try instead making promotional leaflets for Thailand to their tourism ministry. There you can lie about all the good things and never worry TPD does not come knocking on your door in the future for something written showing Thailand in a bad way. 

I am most certain if i was to write about my time in Thailand. I would be arrested for pornographic written material and showing the unsavory side of Thailand to the world for sure. 

But, i would bet you have spent your time in a nice condo or house, travelling to nice places. Never really seeing Thailand for what is hidden from most tourists. So your opinion would be better for tourists and more believable by them as well..

I think 'nom de plume' or 'pseudonym' is the term you a looking for, though with 'pen name'  you've made your target audience patently clear !!!...
