December 26, 20241 yr The other day, I was searching on FB Marketplace for a bike. I found a second hand seller in BKK who had interesting deals, but there were some inconsistencies in communications, specifically regarding price and details. When I clicked on his profile, I would see all other bikes he listed, but that was it. Since there were some inconsistencies, I decided to log in with another account, and ask info about the same bike. With the other account, suddenly the same listing would show a seller rating, and it wasn't good, so I didn't even bother to contact him that way. Now the question is, why marketplace shows seller ratings on my "fake" account, but not on my main account. Is there a setting for it? Main account Other account
December 26, 20241 yr Author Found out already why he has a lot of 1 star ratings. Note the profile name so you know who to avoid. Blocked me right away, so can't report him anymore. FB marketplace seem obviously the biggest scamplace on the internet
December 26, 20241 yr It's definitely scam central, usually once you've paid the money they will block you. A friend was scammed, the person had thousands of friends even though probably a fake account, of course Facebook aren't interested
December 26, 20241 yr Author This is when it got suspicious I was dealing with a scammer, of course his last message to me removed all doubts. He offered to bring the bike to Pattaya for a test ride if I transferred 3500 baht for the transport, which would be deducted from the total price. And if I didn't like the bike after viewing it, I would get a full refund of the transport cost, lol

December 28, 20241 yr Scammers in Facebook surely not. Anyone asking for any money upfront is to be avoided.
