Thai Police Nab Facebook Job Scam Suspect in Soap-Packing Hoax
File photo for reference only In a significant breakthrough, Thai police have apprehended a woman accused of running a Facebook scam promising soap-packing jobs. The suspect, a 23-year-old identified as Sasikarn, was arrested on January 5th in Nakhon Ratchasima. Her arrest follows a warrant issued in October, linking her to a series of fraudulent activities. The operation, supervised by Metropolitan Police Chief Siam Boonsom and the Crime Suppression Division, targeted Sasikarn, a Saraburi province resident, for charges including public fraud and computer-related deception. She is believed to have allowed her bank account and phone number to be used for the scam. Victims reported being lured by a Facebook page offering soap-packing jobs in exchange for a membership fee and further payments for necessary equipment. These payments were never refunded, and the fraudulent page disappeared once transactions were completed. During interrogation, Sasikarn claimed she opened a bank account at the request of a casual acquaintance, not receiving any compensation for it. Nevertheless, she remains in custody at the Khlong Luang Police Station and is due to face legal proceedings for her alleged involvement in the scam. -- 2025-01-06 -

Royal Rainmaking Department Deploys Aircraft to Combat PM2.5 in Bangkok
Impressive, you turned it into a climate change platform. It's too bad your statement is clueless. Farmers burning sugar cane is not climate change. -

Eat Like No One Else: Why no Costco....here?
The table I bought had little screws underneath. After a few packings away, one came out (lost) and the table became unstable. I was told by Fatima, a girl friend, - later to become my lover - that later versions of the table had more robust fittings. I'm in no way doing COSTCO down. A friend bought a Christmas Tree in the Essex COSTCO and had many happy years with it. We had a wholesaler in London called Food Giant. Did great mince pies. But the one in Cricklewood became a B&Q. -

Spanish student dies after being attacked by elephant in Thailand
Non Asian tourists most often do not have an adequate perception of elephants in many cases. They are often not portrayed realistically in western media or Hollywood or even western newscasts. I think sharing living space with monkeys or elephants is a great mistake, for the people and animals alike. These tropical animals living in semi captivity is most dangerous. Not every animal can adapt as well as dogs to a domestic setting. Even kittens with a domesticated mother will act feral if they are born in the woods. Imagine letting wolves or wild boars run around in or near your community just because it looks cool or some opportunistic businessman found a way to make a few bucks exploiting wildlife. -
