It's almost impossible to open a Social Media site nowadays without being submerged with the clips from "yet another tourist".
Standard clips are a stroll down Beach Rd and discussing with the Ladyboys about their tarifs for a short-time, walking down Soi 6 while being  groped by the bar girls and strolling in Walking Street asking the girls if they are a Ladyboy.

Most of these clips have barely 500 viewers and thus no moneytising value.
But they are becoming a PITA for the Sociak Media readers.
Is this the meaning of a tourist vacation?
Shooting a standard clip?

Also they have clickbait, fake image, just block the feed

I never saw such videos. But then, I also don't use social media.

 

As far as I know the users are presented with what the "supplier" thinks is best suitable for you.

Watch a couple of those videos and you will see more of the same.

Maybe next time click on cat or car videos and get more of them. It depends on you what is presented to you.

That is the most annoying thing.
As soon as you click on something, you are flooded with that particular item.
Many times, I click on something by mistake and my screen is flooded with advertising about that item.
ANNOYiNG!!!!

 

You're the problem. None of those come up on my youtube selection.

 

You're clearly watching some of the clips or the algorithm wouldn't feed them to you.

The fact that people still use social media is mind boggling to me.

Why would you give up any kind of privacy so the platforms can make a lot of money?

It's funny, I recently saw a video from an American relatively young guy who lives now in Thailand.

He said when he meets women, obviously online, they don't have to write much about themselves. He just looks at their Insta history to know everything about them. And he said if that Insta history is only a year old or so, that is suspicious.

I guess that is the new world for many young people. If you don't have ton of pictures and videos of you online, then you kind of don't exist. Sad.

I don't have that problem because I don't use social media. Try that as a solution.

Two week millionaires and youtube bloggers who have been in Thailand for two weeks hoping to become millionaires.  Clickbait cranks begging for likes and clicks.

 

The wonderful new world where millions of idiots  with a phone think they can be a movie star, a celebrity,  and get rich quick.

If you read the requirements of monetising social media, it is extremely difficult to make a decent living on Social Media alone.
It's not only the "Clicks" or "How many times your content was displayed" but you need also to have a minimum "Subscribers" and you need also to "Interact" with the users (which means that you need to be constantly reading your post and respnding to users).
You need to post a long time before becoming another "Mr. Beast" or "Andrew Tate".

I listened to a couple of YouTubers who are now more or less famous. It seems all of them needed years and hard work to become famous - which is not really surprising.

In a way I like this. A good example is Dave Jones from EEVblog. He is an electronic enthusiast. And he published many videos about what he likes - independent of making money. And after a while more and more people watched him, and then he started to make money. 

That sounds good to me.

 

If people just open YouTube channels to make money and not because the love what they are doing, then I am pretty sure I would not be interested in most of their channels.

What kind of privacy do you think I give up by posting here?

And for the record, I started using Thaivisa when it was mostly helpful posts about traveling and visa and so on.

It was all better before.

There is still some helpful members answering posts, that's why I still come here.
