According to 2022 data from Reuters, Russia tops the list with 57 icebreakers, followed by Canada with 18, Finland with 10, Denmark with seven, and the U.S. with five.

American taxpayers have now spent more than $26 million in Donald Trump’s second term so the president can play golf at one of his own courses.

Does the president realize his tariffs just made those icebreakers cost 20% more?

There is no 40 icebreaker deal.

In fact they only have two proper polar icebreakers at the moment with both need replacing as they are nearly 50 years old.

All there is between the US and Finland is an MOU signed in Nov 24 to look into the possible future design etc of joint icebreakers.

Irrevelant.  Doesn't matter if any deal was signed, or whether they announced the intent to sign.

Point is, any future sales are now subject to the increased tariff rates, meaning, shirley, Finland will be forced to move their icebreaker production facilities to the US or lose out to 'merkan domestic producers.

And it doesn't have to be the US mainland.  There won't be space anyway, since ALL the boat building folks will be busy making new LNG tankers and container ships for the new 'merkan century of trade.

Finland will be offered the option of opening a new facility at one of our ports on the American Canal in the state of Panama, or Trump might even give them a tax break to move their operations to Greenland State to jumpstart their disastrous economy.

Winning!!!!
