Thai students can rest easy as their US visa applications remain unaffected by the recent halt on certain foreign student visas. The United States Embassy in Thailand assures that no scheduled US student visa interviews for Thai nationals have been cancelled, despite recent memo reports about tightened vetting procedures.

Concerns among Thai students soared when Politico reported that the Trump administration had instructed US embassies to halt expanding student and exchange visitor visa appointment slots.

This announcement spurred confusion and anxiety, particularly for students with upcoming plans to study in the United States. However, Bangkok Post promptly sought clarity from the US Embassy, resulting in reassuring news.

The US Embassy stated that ongoing visa applications for students and exchange programmes continue as usual. No pre-arranged appointments have been cancelled. They urge applicants to be truthful in their application process to avoid delays.

The embassy further advised students still aiming for interview slots to keep tabs on possible new openings. Consular sections are actively adjusting their schedules to meet high standards of vetting while ensuring efficient visa operations. This aims to facilitate all applicants promptly while maintaining security and thoroughness.

The latest development highlights that the diplomatic mission remains committed to supporting Thai students eagerly looking forward to academic opportunities in the United States, alleviating anxieties raised by the recent administrative changes. However, prospective students should remain prepared and vigilant as they navigate the visa application journey.

Though the temporary pause may delay new appointments, the embassy’s proactive measures are meant to keep operations smooth and consistent. Applicants must continue to monitor updates while preparing their documentation meticulously.

If Thai students' visas get revoked and all must pay and return home, there's better than a 1% chance there will be a retaliatory act.  It's all fun and games until your visa is cancelled and you must leave the country in 24 hours.   I just paid an agent a few weeks ago.  gone.  run on the banks.   800k at risk.   Of course, it won't just stop at student visas.   People love to think America doesn't have that much power worldwide.  We are simply pawns in a game controlled by one man.   The UK will follow suit, or face the wrath.  lol.

yup, all fun and giggles until...................................... knock, knock!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing will happen between Thailand and the US to affect the deep relationship we have with Thailand behind the scenes which should not be discussed here.
