Tom Yam Frog !

Featured Replies

Was speaking to my TGF earlier and she was telling me what she was cooking for the family tonight.

Seems like her mom got a good deal on some frogs ( 15 for bt20 ) that were fished from the rice fields at about 4am this morning.

She informed me they were having Tom Yam "frog" ( sorry can't remember the Thia/Lao name )

Saep Bor ? :o

I bought a load of frogs in a bucket once , only young frogs, in a border market on the way back from Ubon for 30 Baht. I felt sorry for them, i took them to a resevoir and let them go, the woman who i bought them off thought i was nuts but also Jai Dee, but she got paid and the frogs lived to fight another day.

Its one of my wifes fav's boiled frogs, she really likes the pregnant ones cos the are full of eggs!!

In Thai it is Gop, I have not had any in Thailand, but its a lot of prep work for 1 or 2 mouthfulls.

The Australian cane toad would feed a whole family.
