August 30, 2025Aug 30 I'm considering opening a Kasikorn Bank (K Bank) account. First, is the Kasikorn Bank (K Bank) debit card a Visa card, MasterCard, or something else like UnionPay. Second, does Kasikorn Bank (K Bank) utilize a web based portal to manage your account, an Android/iPhone app portal, or both a web-based and phone-based? I'm sure I'm forgetting what else I was thinking about, but lets start there.
August 30, 2025Aug 30 My Kasikorn DEBIT card has visa label , but it is NOT a credit card. And up to now (?) Kasikorn has a online web based portal called "Kbiz " besides the K+ plus app (i use it on a android phone ) and Other apps...
August 30, 2025Aug 30 Kasikorn has a web portal which you can use for most things except get a virtual credit card..for some reason they only allow that on the phone app which I have not used. My Kasikorn debit card is marked as VISA business debit but doesn't state my name on it..and I've had trouble using it with overseas online payments for instance RS components and Oracle cloud services.
August 30, 2025Aug 30 i cancelled my debit card i just use the app for cardless withdrawals and QR payments. Kasikorn is my favourite bank, had the account for about 10 years
August 30, 2025Aug 30 I've been using Kasikorn for over 2 years now and had no issues at all. I have the card, but use the Wise virtual card for credit card purchases. Don't use the website, only the app. I find the Kasikorn app superior to the Bangkok Bank app, with whom I also bank. The only annoying thing, on weekends, Wise transfers sometimes go through, sometimes they don't. Which means you have to send money on the Friday to cover your weekend expenses.
August 30, 2025Aug 30 The website is limited to 50k per transaction and can not be changed. As other banks have closed down their website banking don't rely on it being there forever. Its long that I used the website. I use Kbank for day to day online payments/bills domestically. Cash via cardless withdrawal.

August 30, 2025Aug 30 I like K-Bank but do not have an ATM card with them. I think their app is great and use the cardless withdrawal at K-Bank ATMs. I have never had the need to use another ATM.

They have both Visa and UnionPay debit cards. I'm not aware of any MasterCard debit cards they have. Note that you can link more than one debit card to a Kasikorn Bank account. I have a Visa debit card, a UnionPay debit card and their virtual Visa debit card for online payments. All linked to the same account, all with individually configurable limits. What I like compared with other Thai banks is that you can order a debit card from their app and they'll mail it to you. There's no need to go to a branch for a new debit card. I've been very happy with Kasikorn Bank. I never use their web-based banking (K-Biz), but they still have it.
August 30, 2025Aug 30 The problem I guess is that there is no name on the card Ive had no luck getting an explanation from the bank and obviously the websites provide no clue just say payment failed. My UK debit card has my full name. Web sites ask for the name on the card..the Kasikorn has a generic "privileged member" on the front instead of a name.

That used to be the case, but isn't anymore. My current Kasikorn debit cards that I ordered from the app and that were mailed to me do have my name on them. It might still be different with cards they give you on the spot at a branch, I don't know about that.

Just double checked my Kbank debit card and my name is on it.Its not boldly embossed if that means anything. Its smoothly printed? Opened the account in 1992 on my 1st holiday to LOS. Thai Farmers Bank and Darkie toothpaste.555
August 30, 2025Aug 30 My replacement debit card from KBank ordered using the phone app came with my name on it whereas previous card had no name. The name is abbreviated to an initial of my first name only followed by surname for some reason.

When I purchase online overseas for name on card I use my Kasikhorn account name. Has worked for over 5 years. Happy Kasikhorn account holder😀

August 30, 2025Aug 30 I have found their pc website to be less than worthless but their Android app is my app of choice for my rent & utilities. And every year as I make my manual xfer of $9,900 USD (keep it under 10k crossing int'l borders and no one has to know about it) they offer a slightly better exchange rate than any of the other banks in the mall on that same floor.
