British groceries @ a discount

Featured Replies

Variety Foods are a popular seller of British foods on Lazada and Shoppe , now they

have their own website foodvariety.co ,google it , where they are offering cheaper

prices and other discounts ,

At the moment till end of the month ,October ,they are offering 5 % off all orders,

there are 4 ways of saving money , cheaper prices than other expat food sellers,

the 5 % discount , 40 Baht discount new customers use code FOOD VARIETY ,Free

delivery of orders of 1000 Baht ,which is a big saving as others can charge 150 + Baht

per order , I have no connection with the company ,just hope it can save you money.

TOPS have an offer on Ayam beans *, 49 Baht a can , my favourite is English recipe,

just like Branson , etc , I bought 24 cans , as its a good saving ,good till 2028 ,but

they won't last that long , they way I like mine is to chop, fry an onion, add can of

beans then add some B.B.Q sauce, see Heinz UK has a range of exotic beans out,

BBQ,Moroccan ,Sweet Sour, Cheezy,  Jalfrezi, etc etc , * till end of October ,

making savings is better than money in the bank ,where interest is nowt .

I used to buy from Food Variety a lot, but sadly their postal prices on Lazada have made other sellers more attractive. Their delivery charges on their website are laughable, and even a 10% discount isn't enough to bring them back to their excessive Lazada delivery pricing.

Although they still offer some free shipping on Shoppee.

On their new website they offer FREE shipping on B 1000 ,which

is not a lot of money you cannot beat FREE

You're completely right, before, shipping too expensive on their website.

NOW, absolutely free COD, so I've just ordered a load of stuff with free delivery and 5% off.

Thanks for pointing that out!

Agree 100%. There products are generally twice what you pay anywhere else, even when you get a discount, by the time you add on credit card charges, shipping, it just isn't worth it unless it really is something you crave and cannot get elsewhere.

Variety Foods  foodvariety.co

Not one single item of interest here, and wrong pricing universe (too expensive for the tiny sizes) anyway.  Pass for me.

Good for the single item (the old Big C regular price), but nothing else for me in size and price comparison.

I usually go to Siamburi but have from time to time used the online shop, never heard of Food Variety.

Just done a quick check on my main interest, cheese. Much better selection on expat at lower prices so yes, nothing of interest to me.

If it's of interest to anyone, TOPS have Cadbury Wispa at 17.50B and Cadbury Creme for 22B.

Cadbury's is horrible since the Yanks bought it out, vegetable fat mostly, about 20% chocolate

My order took the 2 days to pack, then delivered next day by Thai post.

So 3 days in all.

Agree with you there, if you look on the packets they use a lot of palm oil now, instead of milk.

Cadbury's Malaysia, or Cadbury's UK?

Different fats for the different climates, Malaysia product uses a fat with a higher melting point. Chocolate in the USA is also different to the same brand made in the UK.

So there's at least 3 different regional Cadbury's chocolate versions.

Thanks Britman, I know that in the U.K. they replaced a percentage of the coco butter with palm oil, one reason why they lost the royal warrant over quality and ingredients. I believe it is palm oil free in Aus too.

Also the US version has more sugar than the UK version.

I prefer the UK version of Cadbury's milk chocolate, but the Malaysian Cadbury's bubbly is pretty good.

Please, please, you are ruining my diet, I have to go on lazada now.......

All Cadbury's products sold in the UK are produced in Poland . This is even after an assurance from Kraft who acquired the Cadbury business told the UK government that there would be no changes to their marketing strategy or production  in the UK.

You don't think it helpful to state where? Do you assume it's countrywide?

It seems a couple of people didn't want you to reveal where. 😊 Selfish, it seems 😊
