A 19-year-old pregnant British teenager, Bella Culley, has been released from a Georgian prison after serving nearly six months for drug trafficking charges. Initially facing up to 20 years, a last-minute plea bargain adjustment allowed her freedom. Bella expressed her feelings of relief and happiness as she exited the Tbilisi court with her mother, Lyanne Kennedy.

Bella was arrested on 10 May at Tbilisi International Airport with 12kg of marijuana and 2kg of hashish in her luggage. Thanks to changes in the plea deal, considering her age and pregnancy, prosecutors decided not to continue her lengthy incarceration. Her release follows her family's efforts, which included paying £137,000 to reduce her sentence and intense negotiations with Georgian authorities.

Bella smiled as she embraced her lawyer during court proceedings upon learning of her release. Throughout the hearing, she and her mother exchanged emotional glances, culminating in a tearful embrace upon her release. However, Bella did express concern about her appearance as she left the court, aware of the media attention.

The family's priority is now retrieving her passport to enable her swift departure from Georgia. During the process, Bella's father shared a heartfelt phone call with her, rejoicing that she was no longer in jail. Despite her admission in court, Bella maintains she was coerced by gangsters into smuggling drugs after being tortured in Thailand—a claim under investigation by Georgian police.

Bella's ordeal began while she was travelling in Thailand and allegedly abducted by gangsters. Her case illuminates the difficulties and potential risks associated with international travel. Bella was kept initially at Rustavi Prison Number Five before being moved to a "mother and baby" unit due to her pregnancy.

Key Takeaways:

  • Bella Culley, 19, was released from Georgian custody after 5 months for drug trafficking.
  • Her sentence was reduced after her family paid £137,000, with negotiations ongoing.
  • Bella maintains her innocence, claiming coercion by gangsters; police continue to investigate.

Yet another dumb trout lipped piece of totty. She’ll have her 5 minutes of fame then return to benefit funded obscurity.

What about the father of this child? Never mentioned anywhere so just about sums her up.
