November 15, 2025Nov 15 Popular Post Picture courtesy of Naewna The Interior Ministry has revoked the Thai citizenship of three children of Cambodian Senator Kok An after finding they obtained it fraudulently. The Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA) confirmed that the children falsely claimed Thai parentage to secure nationality, rendering them “foreigners without the right to remain in Thailand.” According to DOPA’s report, the decision followed an investigation linking Kok An to alleged transnational crimes including money laundering, human trafficking and scam operations. Thai intelligence and the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) provided confidential information indicating Kok An, a Cambodian national and senator, had business interests in several countries that may be connected to illegal activities. Although he had previously been granted permanent residence in Thailand, his status has now been voided due to his failure to report his departure from the country as required by law. Authorities confirmed that his name will be officially removed from the house registration in Bangkok’s Prawet district. The three children, Ms. Jaree Klongkitkon, Ms. Phuchelin Klongkitkon (also known as Yulai) and Mr. Kittisak Klongkitkon, were found to have obtained Thai nationality through fraudulent birth registration in Phon Thong District, Roi Et province. Officials said their birth certificates were based on false claims that Thai nationals were their biological parents. DOPA has since cancelled the forged birth certificates and ordered the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to remove the children’s names from the same household registry. As of 11 November 2025, all three are officially classified as non-Thai nationals with no legal right to reside in the kingdom. The department stated they will face further legal proceedings for providing false information in their registration documents. The Interior Ministry emphasised that acquiring Thai nationality or permanent residency grants significant civic rights and misuse of such status by foreign individuals could harm national interests. It reiterated that the government remains committed to eradicating transnational crime networks and will revoke citizenship from anyone found to have obtained it illegally or to have engaged in serious criminal conduct. Naewna reported that officials added that the revocation reflects the government’s strict stance on protecting Thailand’s legal and social order, ensuring that individuals who commit fraud or abuse national privileges “should no longer retain Thai citizenship.” Key Takeaways • Thailand revoked the Thai citizenship of three children of Cambodian Senator Kok An for fraudulent registration. • Investigations linked Kok An to suspected money laundering, human trafficking, and scam networks. • Authorities are pursuing further legal action, affirming a zero-tolerance policy on nationality fraud. November 16, 2025Nov 16 Blame the father if you like. The offsprings' age was not noted but I'm quite sure they didn't claim Thai citizenship on their own. On the other hand, their old man could well have been banging a gig in LA.
