Favourite cafe in Chiang Mai?

Featured Replies

I quite like the At Ta Rot cafe by the Ping river, in Kings park, near what used to be Rimping.

They actually serve a hot Latte (as opposed to Luke warm) for 45bht  and the river view is very nice. Lots of squirrels running around under the trees.

I used to love Wawee coffee, right on the river just before Riverside, just 150 metres from Narawat bridge. Was/is a great spot and the chain's coffee was always consistently good........It's been closed quite a few years now, no idea why. I tried to rent it few years ago; the land is Tesaban owned and they don't wanna rent it/maybe flood related?.................My current favourite is not really a cafe per se, but the coffee, imo, is far better than every cafe I've tried in the city and it can be included with a breakfast (English incredible value and up there quality-wise btw) and that is Mad Dog.............................

Personally don’t have any specific favorite cafe, suppose it’s moment dependent. Sine and Eve moved their restaurant to the San Pa Pao area and we finally had a chance stopped by for dinner last evening where they also have HOW cafe adjacent on the property…

Do they have lemon meringue pies. My family favorite, but getting harder and harder to find.

Any clues to cafes / bakeries which make / sell lemon meringue pies in Chiang Mai much appreciated. Thanks.

One place to get lemon meringue pie is Love at First Bite.

Love at first bite also do a delightful carrot cake but if you are up for it give the rhubarb pie a go it's big enough to share and a delight with home made vanilla ice cream.

...and with car parking and cute garden to boot......................

Take note: Love at First Bite is closed on Mondays.

So is Choquette on the north east corner of the moat. Top spot for sourdough & pastries.
