Veterinary For My Ex Street Dog, Do You Know One ?

In our Villas development there are lots of street dogs, I do not mind at all,

one of those dogs decided that it was time for her to find a family and now

"she adopt" me and my wife,

we called Lola and now its about 3 weeks she stay in our house,

I do not know the age but less then 1 year for sure.

I have a dog in my country as well since years but I would appreciate

if some of you have suggestions about special health treatment to be done

and an affordable veterinary on the Island, better if in Nathon area,

I will drop a visit to Pet House on the ring road after the four Season Hotel and before

Nathon to see if they have a Vet.

Do you have any suggestions for us ?

for vaccinations and other treatments try dr somsak on ring road opposite the post office in chaweng. that is quite far, you can also go and ask the lady at the petshop in ban makham near nathon. she has everything dog needs and also vaccinates and gives ivermec shots which dogs need for heartworm prevention here every two months.

You say hearworm treatment every 2 months but it is 3 months. I've been taking my dog to that animal clinic and we go every 3 months for the heartworm pill.

What I like about here is that, like motorbike repairs, the vet costs are extremely affordable!

sorry to disagree, it is 2 months to be on the safe side for shots. for pill it should be every month. 3 months is already far too long period for the microfiliae to turn into next stage inside dogs body which cannot be killed with ivermec anymore. ask your vet.

She sleeps outside in the garden, this morning when I wake up

I noted her culinary nigh time diet :

my crocks (only 1)

my slipper (only 1) she probably prefer odd pair of shoes...very trendy...

my Oregon scientific digital temperature probe

my coconut ashtray (I hope she will not smokes in the future)

last but not least she bite my "Sales office" sign on the door

She is young and she needs a bit of education I believe, but our main

question is : in which language ? I'm joking, but looks more effective say "Mai" rather then NO.

She drinks the Chlorine water in the swimming pool even if, every time we see her,

we go after with a water bowl to teach... do you think its dangerous ?

Ah, the joys of puppyhood. Best get over to Tesco and buy her some rawhide bones to chew on. Kepp your shoes and important things inside. I knew other dogs that drank pool water. Probably not the best thing, but dogs will be dogs. If guests come to visit and they have expensive shoes, make sure you keep them out of Lola's reach (I think I spent about Bt3,000 to replace several of my neighbour's shoes -- she never took the flip flops, only the left shoe of the leather ones). Also, the beef sellers at the wet markets usually give the big bones away if you ask -- hours of free entertainment.

Applauding Lola for biting the "Sales Office" sign! Very sensible as too much is for sale....joking too! But do not overdo it with shots etc. My former street/beachdogs are now 8 and 3 without having seen the vet regularly as they are fine but if: Dr. Somsak.
