Is there anything to choose between thai visa service and thai visa run? one is 100 baht cheaper, any comments from those who have used these services?

Both are very reliable, it's really up to the individual to choose .

Just take the Casino bus, 300 baht R/T

TUK WAN!!!

It's not that simple anymore ..... Poi Pet is only suitable now for those having a multiple entry or a air ticket confirmation for those who would like to get a 30 day

visa.

The border in Ban Laem is suitable for all kinds of visa requesters. If you don't have a air ticket, you can buy a bus ticket for THB 200. There is, of course, no such thing as a 'casino' bus to Ban Laem.

I for one was a fan of the casino bus. However, that's out of the question for me now (and many others).

How would you know? Are you their accountant? As I live in the Petchburi Rd. area, it would be so convenient I would give them a try.

I have a multiple entry B but for my 90 day border run end of the month, I'd rather not go casino bus to Poipet like I always do.

I wana go to Lao with the visa group, but I don't need a Thai visa nor a Laos visa. However, prices quoted by visa run companies to Laos seem to already include price of expensive visas for both Laos and Thailand which I don't need. When I called 2 of them, the Thai staff spoke only super simple English (could only understand one subject and verb in one sentence.. no room for "but" or "if") and so I couldn't explain that I should have my price lower because I already have visa.

How would you suggest I go about this? I prefer to go with visa run company instead of tour group because tour group includes artsie fartsie luxuries which I don't care for. I just wana go to Laos and check it out for the day... :o

You don't need a Lao visa? You have visa free entry in other words?

Why take any organized trip. Catch the train to Nong Khai or the bus. Simple enough to arrange local transport from stations to bridge and onward to Vientiane. You could also fly to Udorn and travel from there. Or take bus/train to Udorn and local transport to border or directly to Vientiane.

If you are visa free for Laos, I believe this should then be refunded by the visa run company. And indeed a Lao visa can be exepensive, but I'm not sure if the fees quoted by these companies does include the visafee, as this is dependant on the country of origin.

But I would not even use these companies, do it yourself. As per above take the train (slow), bus (quickr) or plane to Udon Thani, Air Asia and Nok air go there for about 1500 baht. Take a bus from Udon Airport to Firendship bridge (150 baht) then onwards with taxi or tuk tuk to Vientiane.

what happened to all the visa runners? did they leave or did they get different visas?

a combination of both is probably true.

Many of my friends/teachers have left to other countries because of better pay, easier visarules.

Others have received support from their employers and were able to apply for a Non Immigrant Visa.

In actual fact and air ticket is not an option at Ban Laem...they don't want to see it. They insist on the purchase of the THB 200 bus ticket.

This is recent information as I booked a visa run to there yesterday and queried the operator about this.

If he doesn't need a visa for Laos it may indicate that he is a national from one of the ASEAN countries. My GF from the Philippines will not require a visa to enter Cambodia or Laos however when we do a visa run from Pattaya, the companies (the good ones that we use) will charge her 1000 baht less (in actual fact, even less than that i.e. I will pay 1,700 and she will pay 500). I would expect that any person in the same boat should get a similar deduction from a visa run company in BKK.

Why not,give them a call.

One of my neighbors is a Officer from Ban Laem, so he told me that this Tourgroup is unknown to them.

Yes or the OP is from Japan or Russia, as these two are also visa free to Laos. My Lao partner is visa free for Columbia also, and he goes with thai visa service or thai visa run, both have been deducting the 1000 baht Cambodian visa as well (even if it's technically only USD20).

Seems unlikely to me. 1) On the the door of the office is a notice that says a air ticket confirmation is necessary. 2) Some guys in front of me last month had a ticket out. They didn't have a problem.
