January 30Jan 30 Police to Start Traffic Enforcement With Warnings FirstThe Royal Thai Police have introduced a new traffic rule for early 2026 that prioritises verbal warnings before issuing fines. The directive instructs officers nationwide to explain offences to drivers initially, aiming to promote better compliance and understanding. Digital ticket management tools will be used when fines are eventually applied if repeat violations occur. Officials say this approach is designed to improve road discipline and reduce accidents. Public education efforts will accompany the rollout.
January 31Jan 31 What the police and the highway patrol really need to do is to start patrolling the highways. I only see any kind of enforcement being done at these ridiculous roadblocks, which just clog already highly congested traffic, they need to start pulling people over for reckless driving, they need to start pulling trucks over for doing 45 and 50 km/h in the fast lanes, on major highways, and they need to start acting like law enforcement.
