People also filling up plastic containers..People are hoarding fuel, due to shared news stories about Strait of Hormuz being closed and that Thailand only has fuel in stock for 60 days. Furthermore the fuel price is said to have gone up by 4 baht. Diesel seemed to have been sold out last evening, which is likely hoarded most, as it's used in business. When I passed PTT in Bo Phut back home last night, it was still same fuel prices as usual and shown in attached image.(Photo of Shell in Bo Phut taken through my car window.)
March 14Mar 14 A couple of days ago, we could only buy for 1000max yesterday 3000. This is going to last for awhile, so better save up.
March 15Mar 15 In Phuket the other day, one station completely closed no fuel, the other out on the main road (Wisit), only the higher grade.
March 21Mar 21 They are aholes, but that is how people operate—FOMO panic buy and F everyone else. Similarly during the floods here with people grabbing all the water and Covid with the hoarding of toilet paper nonsense… typically women filling shopping carts to the brim. One could say it’s the few ruining it for the many, a mental disorder, but it is people in general. A failed, greedy species indeed.
