Teach
Today Sat 24th July, I had the pleasure of doing the visa run to Aranya. Considering all the recent ballyhoo and rumours regarding possible denial of re-entry I was a little jittery and very much prepared. I took everything I thought I would need for an enforced stay in Cambo-except the sink. I am glad to say that there were no such restrictions in place, and re-entering was as smooth as silk. I asked as many searching question as I could of the highest ranking Officer to try and determine if there was any particular circumstance that would deny a farang ( even with a passport full of Cambodian runs) the privilege of re-entering for another stint. The answer was NO!!!! Only if there is a discrepency with your paperwork would any problem arise. Even a book full of 30 day runs doesn't constitute an issue. I was given no indication that extended runs will become an issue in the future, though tomorrow is another day, but for now things are OK. Now a word to the wise!!!!!!! It usually takes me 6 hours round trip door to door ( using a motorbike that's now for sale in the classifieds). However today and most likely Sunday as well the Immigration guy's in there infinite wisdom no longer segregate the casino hopefuls from the from the rest of us. This added an hour to the usual 40 mins spent doing the paperwork in and out. So expect a long queue waiting for you at the w/ends or go earlier. Teach
More halfwits Hey Visarunner, Looks like Dr. Evil and his "mini me's' are at it again. Berating anything anyone has to say that doesn't fit in with his own viewpoint!!!!!! Through study of various topics, it seems a thread only turns to crap when the good dr. starts his witless slandering of other forum members WHO ARE ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION. If the dr. doesn't like what others have to say perhaps he can start his own forum, inviting only respondents who appear to hang on his every word. Must be a sad life having nothing else better to do all day than trawl the forums in a feeble attempt to enforce one's own opinion on the world. Get a life ...give us all a break. Providing you are on a decent enough diet and drinking plenty of water then you start to feel healthier within a couple of days. Have yet to try Centrum or Centrum Silver let alone be told what the difference is between the two.

BronzeRider
Teach I have not had a problem regarding 30 day b2b's. If this were a problem then there would be a problem with 15 day b2b's and then of course the one-day cross-overs. Dress nice, be polite. hankamazon
there are many interesting border points other than Aran. Like Mae Sot, Mae Sai, Padan, Sadao, Nong Kai, Mudahan, Ranong, ect. Now you can reach many of these places by low cost airlines. I enjoy visa run too, very much fun to pick the next point. My next one through Hat yai and go to Padan for a U-turn then party in hat yai for a wekend. hat yai is really a huge party town. Is a very interesting visa run point. Should I find the need to change my venue I'll pick up this point. Hey Hank, how's the attitude toward the 30 day repeaters at the above mentioned crossings?????? This leads me very nicely to offering reasons why an indivual would purposely choose 30 day runs over the more acceptable entry methods (according to Heir Dr). Apart from not having to jump through hoops and scale hurdles to satisfy tiny tin soldier mentality, more meaningful advantages for me are: a) being able to have an awayday on the bike, make stops for food & stuff at different little roadside outlets (I'm on first name terms with quite a few which again has its advantages) c) speed and convenience 6hr round trip if I don't stop for the above d) ease at the border with Imm Officers who know me making it a smooth process (usually) e) using the services of a local (Cambo) lad who does all my paperwork and gets me to the front of the queue when its busy f) the market there has very cheap consumables and textiles g) I don't particularly enjoy flying Teach

Indo-Siam
Hi All - I am totally out of touch with making 30 day visa runs by ground transport. I have a client's visiting family member who needs to do a 30 day border turn later this week. For the Aranyaprathet run, can anyone identify an"out and back" van/bus service specializing in this run, and departing from Sukhumvit area? I'm seeking street location level contact info, plus idea on departure/return times, and costs. I'm seeking only a straightforward, fully-legitimate operation, suitable for a total novice (i.e., with hand-holding included). I searched back a few months - found departures for Aranyaprathet from many places, but not central Bangkok. Thanks, Steve Indo-Siam

Indo-Siam
Yy and Udon - Thanks, gents. For this situation, Jack's Golf has the reassuring aura that fits the bill. I will try to post a report of the visa runners impressions, upon his return. Cheers! Steve Indo-Siam
