Non-O Visa and Vacationing Within Thailand. New TM30, etc.?

Featured Replies

I have a new Non-O visa, reside in Thailand, and I am visiting Bangkok for a week in an Airbnb. My next 90day report is in June. I have done one 90d report already so I am planning to do the next one online. I am not exiting Thailand.

Do I need to take any steps/precautions re: TM30 etc.? I.e, do I need to mention to the host that I currently reside in Thailand so please dont register me in Bangkok, etc.?

Really, I just want to avoid any messes regarding reporting that will necessitate a trip to Immigration. TIA

Assume you mean you have an extension of stay.

A Non O only provides 90 day stamp.

If you have a regular address in Thailand and just stay out of province as you plan you should not need to file a new tm30 when back home.

However (as always) some offices play with their own deck and want a new TM30.

Which immigration office

Yes, sorry....I need to be precise with terminology. I am in the 12 month extension of stay of a Non-O visa.

Can be inconsistent at Jomtien as indicated in this recent thread.

Will the mitigating factor be whether the Airbnb host registers me as staying at their rental unit? I don't know how "thorough" Airbnb hosts are.

Maybe I should put the question to the host? Ultimately, my course of action depends on what the host does first, no?

Assume you are referring to Airbnb for your Bangkok visit.

You could ask them not to do a TM30.

Yes, perhaps just ask the Airbnb host not to register me. I don't want them to get in trouble, but the worst they can say is no, I suppose.

I guess my question is answered, mostly, ha. If I get a new TM30 from my stay in Bangkok, I then have to get another TM30 when I return to my home in Thailand and do my 90d report in-person as scheduled in June. I'll just bring all the receipts with me in June. ty

You can do your 90 report online.

In person is after you return from trip abroad.

I only do a tm30 when dealing with immigration, which is for annual extension. I always get my office to do a TM30 just prior to my application for extension.

I live in Bangkok and visit places in Thailand eg Pattaya. Never do a TM30 when I return to my Bangkok address

OK tyvm

Most AirBNBs default to not registering you, and you have to ask/beg in order to get them to do it.

Did they ever ask you for a copy of your passport? If not, then will not be able to register you. That's enough to answer the question in most cases.

Chiang Mai want the new TM30 if you stay out of the province.

What is the big deal about registering upon returning home? My wife has an online account for performing TM30 notifications, and the first thing I do when I return home after a stay in a hotel or other accomodation within Thailand is to log on and register my return home. Saves a lot of hassle at the immigration office later.

As for me, I have a one year O/A visa obtained in the States. If I travel in country and don't file TM30 when I return home at NongKhai, the next time I go to file the 90 day report immigration usually (as in always) mention that I didn't file a TM30 after traveling and file a new one for me. They don't fine me and are always courteous. DRJack54 is correct I believe, as an I/O told me the same previously, but as he said, it just depends on the I/O. If a TM30 is not filed at your travel destination then nothing is noted on their system, however the guesthouses and hotels are required to file one.

Are you going alone.

When we went the owner behaved as if I wasn't there, only spoke to my wife. Quite possibly he didn't want a question he didn't want to answer.

The day we left it turned out he could speak English and was very chatty.

In that case you could have asked him if he filed a TM30.

At a guess not. Especially as you didn't mention you supplying pp.

For others travel out of province should not require a TM30 when you return to your usual resistance.

Some offices are nut cases and require that.

No wife or housebook. Non co-operative landlord. Distance from immigration office.

Take your pick.
